When I try play sound from my Mac on my external monitor it causes the video or music file to fast forward and the sound to be choppy. This happens with local video and audio files, Spotify, YouTube.
Thanks for the reply but I don't think it's a problem with the monitor. The coreaudiod issue is a known issue for a while: coreaudiod Process Problem - Apple Community. I don't think it would be possible for my external monitor to prompt my Mac to fast-forward media playback. The issue is identical to this when external monitor is chosen as the sound output: =NLC7g8WB2b0
I have a program open on my 1st monitor which then plays on the second monitor once I hit the play button. This is frustrating because I need to hear this audio through my studio speakers which can only be hooked up to the laptop and not the second screen which is where the sound is coming from. Any help on directing audio to the laptop instead of the second screen?
The easiest thing to do is to click on the volume control in the taskbar. The title above the volume slider is actually a selection menu. Click on this and choose the output you prefer and your audio should start heading that way.
Hi Gang. My videos will play on a timeline but not in the source window. I hear the audio but the video is frozen. I can scrub the monitor and see the frames change. I deleted my profile config from Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/9.0 and the videos WILL playback in the source monitor. However, as soon as I sync my settings from CC, (to restore my custom keyboard shortcuts, etc.) the videos will no longer play in the Source monitor.
I am having the same problem but discovered it's only happening with subclips. I tried the suggestion given to Vidmachine. That didn't work. I tried the suggestion for Yimkand. That works but I have about 30 hours that I've put into an existing project. Starting a new file doesn't help. I have a deadline and need this fixed.
My MacBook displays and charges over the usb-c port on the display and detects the monitor in the audio settings, however I cannot get it to actually play audio when connected via usb-c. When connecting via HDMI audio is functional for my Mac and other devices but I cannot seem to get audio to work when connected to usb-c even after messing around with all of the device settings .
5. I opened the "Audio MIDI Setup" app and was able to click on the SAMSUNG device there. I was not able to control volume controls through that app, but I can right-click (Ctrl-click) on MacBookPro Speakers or on SAMSUNG and choose that device for Sound Output and for Alerts and Sound Effects.
I'm not sure if I did another step in there somewhere, but I think that was all I did to make this work. I had been trying many things before, so maybe one of those was critical as well. Hope this helps!
I have the same problem. When connect M7 Monitor to my MacBook Pro 16 with USB-C 3.1 gen.2 cable, the monitor doesn't play sound. Another problem is when connect the USB-C cable Macbook sends signal after 1 or minutes.
First in "Audio MIDI Setup", select some other audio device, say MacBook speakers, as "Use this device for sound output" via right click. Then select Samsung monitor as sound output. The flip operation fix the no audio issue to the Samsung external monitor.
Audio output does not work with my MacBook Pro 2019 connected to the M7 monitor via usb-c. I made sure to select SAMSUNG as the sound output source, turn up the volume of the monitor via the remote, restart my MacBook Pro, and select SAMSUNG from the Audio MIDI Setup. None of these steps worked. Also does not matter if the lid is open or closed (with or without the Apple charger plugged in). I am also running the latest version of macOS Monterey. The Audio simply does not work. The monitor is on the latest software version. Please fix this.
Don't worry - it's quick and painless! Just click below, and once you're logged in we'll bring you right back here and post your question. We'll remember what you've already typed in so you won't have to do it again.
Unfortunately, Spotify stops playing immediately when the screen turns dark to safe energy - in battery mode after 3 minutes. the ultrabook is still active and spotify appears on the lockscreen and starts playing immediately when the screen turns on again.
Is this the same for when you set the screen off mode to never? I recall seeing a while ago that if you use the webplayer through Microsoft Edge you can circumvent the issue (don't quote me on that one though!)
There's this thread on the topic that may have a couple of solution and you could always remove sleeping mode. You can do this in power settings. Add a new time to Sleep Mode to Never. Also if you use a Balanced mode in power settings, you might want to try Best performance mode.
I've already tried setting sleep mode to never and restarted the pc several times. it doesn't work - when the display goes dark to save energy the music stops playing just 5 seconds later. the pc is then not turned off though.
The good news is that a fix for this is in the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. With this update playback on Spotify can continue while the screen is off to conserve your battery power. While you might not have this update yet, you can update Windows manually by going here: -us/help/4028685/windows-10-get-the-fall-creators-update. The music will, however, stop when your computer goes to sleep. You can control the sleep settings in the Power & sleep settings.
- Also, I do not wish to touch my Windows Settings to change the Main Monitor to my 4k screen. This will cause Windows alerts and notifications to pop-up on my 4k screen too and this is really awkward and disturbing to my gameplay. So, those kinds of things I try to keep away from my 4k screen as much as possible.
- AND... When the game opens on my 2k screen and I try to switch the game to my 4k screen by using the Windows+Arrow Keys, the Settings for my Main Monitor (the 2k screen) also remain (fps and refresh Settings too). It does not adapt to the new Monitor which is the 4k screen.
Most of the time while I'm doing guild admin I have the game loaded on one of my side monitors but when I'm leading an event I move it to my main one. I have it set to load on the side monitor as default although I can change that pretty quickly:
The only time I have problems with this is when I'm in fullscreen mode and I do WINDOWS+L/R ARROW as it goes into a semi windowed state and if I close it and re-open I get it split across a couple of the displays. The fix is ALT-ENTER twice and then follow the process I described above.
Is there a way to change the way the Now Playing Screen looks? There is so much wasted space. The song title scrolls across a tiny area and there is rarely enough room to show the artist name and album title. Why? It's really annoying for no reason. Plaster the page with advertisements, I don't care. But please - I just want to see the full song title, artist name, and album name.
4. On line 7 of this code snippet change the URL to your station URL, and add a @match entry for any other stations you want to add (this is the annoying part).
5. Save the userscript file and open/refresh Pandora.
All this does is make the song title, band, and album text larger and less cramped. I'm not a coder, there's probably a more streamlined way, but this worked for me to not have to walk across the room to see what's playing despite having an enormous screen. It really is a waste of space and the text info we want to see is literally smaller than the menu options. Come on Pandora, give us a Now Playing screen that actually tells us WHAT'S PLAYING. Sheesh.
I read that quite a few people have said it's better to play on a smaller tv as it makes it easier to aim. I can't even see where the enemies are let alone aim!?!? I can't wait to get a bigger TV again!!
Gamers who use monitors/small TVs sit at less than arm's reach from the screen. Going from playing on a home TV to playing on a high quality 27" monitor changed my game completely. I'm an older player like yourself, and wear my strong reading glasses when playing. I can see SO much more than when I was on a TV. I would literally never go back to playing that way, I'd rather not play.
since there is no 120hz support yet for the consoles, it doesnt really apply that the smaller TVs are better.
as @hayhor mentioned smaller monitors might have a higher refresh rate than the bigger ones, but that does only apply to pc gamers since they can up the frame rate to actually profit from the refresh rate
Once upon a time, I found it absurd to be playing a video game console on a computer monitor, consoles are meant for the TV. Recently I've decided to try it out, and it is actually an incredible experience to play Nintendo Switch on a monitor at my desktop PC setup.
