I am running a tern server with verbose log statements getting printed on the console. But, emacs launches a new Tern server whenever Tern mode files are opened. How can i configure emacs with already Tern server's port number?

Unless you ran your server with `--no-port-file`, it should be
creating a `.tern-port` file that Emacs picks up automatically. (Make
sure you first kill any existing Tern processes, so that Emacs isn't
talking to an old instance.)
