First of all, I think I'm gonna love this tool, if it is running like
I expect it to run ;)

ok, it is described....creates playlists for every album it finds in
your Library
NOTE: Creating a large number of playlists will slow iTunes greatly!

But: What is every album? I have a folder "2009" with all singled I
liked in 2009. I tagged all (let's say) 50 songs with Album =2009.
Anyway, this script creates 50 playlist; each playlist with a
different artist...?

Is this the way is is supposed to work? I thought, it will create 1
playlist with 50 songs...

Am I wrong?

Christian

Christian,

I can see why you thought it would create one playlist because the
Albums all had the same name. Maybe the description is a bit
misleading.

If the Artist is different, but the Album name is the same, the script
creates a separate playlist. I did this to prevent issues when two
Albums by different artists had the same name. For example, there are
a lot of artists with the album name "Blue".

Teridon,

thank you for your answer. So you can either change the description or
the coding ;) But you are right, especially for albums called
"Greatest Hits" or "MTV Unplugged".

What I am trying to achieve is to have access to my own folder
structure (cause I am using it for more than 10 years!). From my root
folder (lets say C:\my music) I want to have a playlist for every
subfolder containing a mp3. This playlist should be names relative to
its path to C.\my music), e.g. Album_Green Day_Dookie (which would be
equal C:\my music\Album\Green Day\Dookie)

What I did now: I created a m3u for each and every folder, which
contains a mp3. This m3u is withiin the folder. I tried to run script
"itunes_add_m3u_playlist" with subdirectories. But anyway, this script
only adds 1 playlist (as mentioned on commandline). Indeed, if I check
this in itunes, unfortunately nohting happened.

Any suggestions? What are the requirement for the m3u?

Regards from Germany,
Christian

Teridon,

do you have any idea, why the add_m3u_playlist is only adding a
playlist, If the subfolders are ignored (using n as parameter)?
Sometimes, the playlist is added, and sometimes it isn't ?

Regards,
Christian
