I've decided to give up on this particular campaign, and maybe the whole DLC. Perhaps there are people out there who really had a blast with this, but I am so addled. It feels like there is fun to be had here but it's hidden inside a Rubik cube which I can't figure out. Like I've never played basketball in my life and someone told me to have fun with a basket. The developers clearly put a lot of work into this but what on earth it is they were going for is beyond all my powers of cognition, unless the idea was to make a game that looks like Total War game and doesn't play like it in the slightest. Thoughts?
From the later part of the siege of Rome onwards, reinforcements had arrived in Italy;[15] during the siege of Ariminum, another 5,000 reinforcements landed in Italy, close to the siege where they were needed, clearly by design.[13] The last group of reinforcements was 7,000 strong and led by Narses.[13] After these arrived, the Byzantines had around 20,000 troops in Italy in total.[13] John claimed that about half of the troops were loyal to Narses instead of Belisarius.[13]
