We are truly sorry for the inconvenience caused. McAfee Shredder will be always ON because it lets you shred any of your files without having to open your McAfee software every single time, you can simply right click on a file and find an option to shred the file. McAfee Shredder will not shred any of your files automatically, shredder has to be manually initiated from your end.
Regarding your issue with app boost, if it automatically turns on even after turning it off and choosing the never option under resume boosting we recommend you to uninstall and reinstall the McAfee software on your device.

I concur. I do not want file shredder as an option, part of my software, or upteen million fooking popup messages about using it every time I turn my computer on! Nor do I need 3rd party software for maintenance. If we cannot remove this piece of [SH.IT] software that is included in our virus software that we pay a lot of money for, at least let us turn off messages about using something we do not want to use! The customer is always right. And you have some customers who do not want to be forced to deal with all the bloatware included in Mcafee. It is for this exact reason that I have decided not to renew my subscription when it expires at the end of the year and I will be going back to Norton which does allow you to turn this crap off if it is included. McAfee virus software and firewall are great. All the included bloatware that we cannot uninstall because it is part of the package is most definitely not great. You will be losing a customer come 2024. I give you 10 months to get this straightened out. Give your customers what they are asking for. We are the ones paying you!
Today my McAfee internet security suite was updated from the green UI to the new blueish version. When I looked through the UI I didnt see how to get acess to shredder and quick clean. If I click on about it shows that both are installed. But I cant access them. Why ? Are they removed from my paid program ? Or is there something I missed in the new UI which will give me access. Did a reinstall and it got worse now the functions Quick clean, shredder an VU-scanner are no longer listed as components when I open the about tab. Anybody from McAfee who can explain this ? Still had 120 days left of my subscription so it is strange for a company to remove a function in the program that I paid for in advance..
Hello the problem is that neither of Quick clean or shredder or vu-scanner is listed under identity or privacy after I got the update to the new UI . I did a reinstall through my acount but those functions dont apear nowhere in the UI. So your solution is not valid. Maybe you got another one ?
I have also tried removing Mcafee and reinstalling. No difference. I'm a bit lost without my shredder (though it's still lurking "in the system" somewhere, as when I right click a file the "shred" option is still there) but panicking a bit as I'm really not sure whether Mcafee is working and protecting me.
now ill admit im biased i really dislike the flamers , or at least how most people use them and i primarily want less people to sue it but i do genuinely believe since the last patch the shredder autopistol is a huge step up in all regards
I hope you add these features (file shredder and VPN) in a newer version. Because from what I can see, competing antivirus companies have these features included in their packages (especially premium packages).
