Whereas wireframes act as the blueprint for future web designs, an effective product mockup builds on that rough sketch in order to visualize more detailed content and demonstrate basic functionalities.

Long gone are the days when you worry about how to make a mockup from scratch. Our mockups and wireframe creator offers ready-to-use templates that can help kick-start and support your projects at any stage.

For each template, you can either choose a starter diagram to get a quick start or a blank drawing. Each template has five stencils (containers, controls, media, text, and navigation) with many shapes in each. Containers provide you with pre-created groups of shapes representing different dialogs and cards to help quicken your wireframe diagram creation. Wireframe stencils also have smart shapes, such as a range slider or progress bar, that you can customize with control points and right-click menu actions to modify state, numeric values, or visual styles. These templates are generic and may be used for different browsers and mobile devices.

Creation is complex, especially if you want others to see your vision as well. The template that will help you find a foundation to build upon and put a spotlight on your progress is called a Wireframe.

Wireframing is an essential step in the initial stages of a UI project, allowing you to define the information hierarchy of your mobile app or web design project and plan for functionality and user flow. By stripping away non-essential design elements, wireframes help to communicate the layout effectively.

These free web design wireframe kits can be used to plan the layout of a website, visualize content structure, test website functionality, collaborate with team members, and save time during the design process.

Wireframing is an essential step in UI design, and these free wireframing templates can be a helpful resource for designers looking to streamline the design process and create effective and successful UI designs.

All of the elements in the template are cleanly grouped and easy to copy and paste into another document. The first page in the file has multiple artboards with the core set of elements, and the second page is a basic style guide with more detailed typography and UI elements.

@Robert_Sk Checking with our MURAListas now. Would you or your friend want to work with me to make one if we don't? I'm responsible for helping build templates like these, so we can collaborate on making something AWESOME. Regardless I will be taking this project on to build this template, so let me know!

Here's a close-up of a non-sensitive page so that you can get a sense for the detail I use in wireframes. I tend not to get much more detailed than this in a wireframe. This is good enough to help everyone understand the intent and have a good discussion about the relative merits of the page, content, and design:

Here's an example from a personal project of mine, where I used MURAL to wireframe a workflow within an iPhone and iPad app. Pretty simple and lacking in much detail, but it helped me plan how these screens needed to work across devices:

Hm, you could upload the wireframing-elements as files to the canvas if you have those graphics and then build wireframes with them. Then save your "defaults" to the content library to reuse them. It's not perfect yet, but you could use it to get started with wireframes. If that does not work for you - what needs to be improved?

This is a robust template of common wireframing components that are cleanly grouped and organized! They're maybe most relevant to web design but could be repurposed for wireframes of any sort... read more

Included in the template:
- Most common layouts for desktop and mobile (1-4 column in various arrangements)
- Mobile navigation (up to 3 levels deep!)
- 12-column grid based on Twitter Bootstrap
- A full array of typography styles (built as Text Styles)
- Various UI elements (tabs, buttons, filters, etc.)
- Commonly-used icons (via FontAwesome)
- WYSIWYG elements (images with captions, related content, etc.)

I've made it available under a Creative Commons Attribution license (CC-BY) which means that you can distribute, remix, tweak, and build upon this work, even commercially, as long as you provide credit. Happy wireframing!

At the start of a project, we usually need to make wireframes, in some form or another. What this entails depends on the project. Sometimes all that's needed is a simple pencil or whiteboard sketch. However, larger, more complex projects often require a high-fidelity deck with annotations. To save time and have consistency across our organization, we've created a number of templates.

However, when there is a deliverable that needs to be approved by a client or handed off to another designer and/or development team, a higher-fidelity wireframe is necessary. For these projects, we use these templates, which accommodate detailed documentation and any necessary interaction notes/annotations.

Yet, even high-fidelity wireframes should not be overdesigned. We find it best to stick to a gray-tone color scale, and refrain from incorporating branding. Time is better spent on ideating, establishing hierarchy, and keeping production lean. Leave the intricate pixel pushing for the UI project stage.

@BrianJ @Heather Wireframing and dashboard prototype building is indeed a very important step in the BI implementation process. I am using this tool called mokkup currently ) and it is the best tool for dashboard mock ups. Also @BrianJ , the template library is quite extensive. Do check it out and let me know how you like the product.

EmeraldKit is a free SaaS marketing website template. It offers multiple sections that are easy to edit and customize to your likely. Included is also a design system that allows you to organize your colors, text, and other design elements across your website.

Any major web project needs a wireframe. Wireframes work as a guide to show a team how the content will come together and where elements like images, calls to action, and navigational options will be integrated.

Why? Because it packs in 14 different page layouts, 70 pre-designed templates, and lots of components like testimonial and pricing pages that fit well with a tech aesthetic. With so many variations, you can pick and choose what works best for your design.

With over 120 interchangeable components and elements, the Antares UI kit offers flexibility, creativity, and a modular system that makes for a cohesive design. This template puts an emphasis on content with a choice of 2, 3, and 4-column layouts. This UI kit also has a nice library of pre-built CMS components to set up blogs, team member pages, and portfolio projects with ease.

3. Start with a blank drawing in the mobile app or website wireframe template. Navigate to the stencil for containers and drag a mobile frame/internet browser container to the canvas. Further add controls and other shapes from stencils to the wireframe. Use control points and right-click Menu actions to modify state or visual style of the shapes.

A wireframe is a diagram that visualizes how a webpage or application will look in the same way you'd use a blueprint for a house. It's a sketch of the interface's structure, usually without any color, images, or other visual design choices made or inserted.

In the steps below, you'll learn how to make a wireframe in Gliffy. Start your free trial in Confluence to follow along! (If you're not a Confluence user, trying Gliffy Online works, too.) You can learn to create a wireframe from scratch, or use one of our wireframe examples as a template.

Select "New" from the File menu, then select "Wireframe" from the types of diagrams you can start with. Alternatively, you can click "More Shapes" at the bottom of the shape library in the lower left, then ticking the "Website and UI" checkbox. With these, you'll have the shapes and templates you need to make a wireframe.

We build hundreds of standardized shapes into Gliffy, but you can also add your own to complete your wireframe. Simply drag and drop files from your computer onto the canvas, or read up on our tutorial for how to Make a Diagram with Custom Logos, Images, and Shapes in Gliffy.

The UI Library, or User Interface controls Library, is the long strip of user interface controls just below the toolbar. It lists all of the UI control types that are included as well as Assets, Icons, and Symbols. The main goal of the UI Library is to let you add UI controls to the canvas, but you can also use it to get inspiration for your wireframes.

Once you have pressed the Templates button, the UI library will expand and display all of the templates available. You can browse the various collections by selecting a filter from the filter button bar.

Selecting the result will display all the applicable templates in the UI Library. You can add any of them by dragging them onto your canvas or, if you want them all, you can press the Add All as New Wireframes button.

A context menu is also available for the wireframes that are open in the navigator panel. You can either right-click on the selected wireframe, or click the small caret that appears when you hover over it, to open the menu.

Renaming wireframes can be done via the context menu or by double-clicking on the name of the wireframe in the navigator panel. Wireframes with links will automatically be updated when a linked wireframe name changes.

A blue dot indicates that a Comment is unread. Comments can be marked as read and unread by clicking the blue/grey dot. You can add Callout markers to indicate specific places in the wireframe where the comments applies or add a link to an alternate version.

Note: If you want to use a specific project font, we recommend that you set it before you start creating your wireframes. Changing the project font may adversely affect existing wireframes in your project. Each font has different dimensions and proportions so switching fonts may cause controls to overlap or line up unevenly.
