Its comprehensive yet intuitive interface enables accurate calculations, traceability, and protects intellectual property. Document critical engineering calculations in a professional notebook with natural mathematical notation and units intelligence. Show your work using rich formatting options alongside plots, text, and images in a single document. Don't settle for spreadsheets, Mathcad visually represents math in an easy-to-understand format, making engineering calculations simple to define, understand and manipulate. Bring your calculations to life with Mathcad Prime.
PTC Mathcad Prime is commonly used in the math, engineering, and science industries and academia, and the skills you develop while using the Student Edition will be transferable to the professional world.
PTC Mathcad Prime Student Edition is available to current students whose intended use is for personal learning (not for teaching or research). Not available for labs or institutions. A valid university email address is required for purchase.
How can I get a free student license for Matchad 6 or others versions? I can to donwload but I don't know how to get a license for students. Is not free? I activated free trial version ( I downloaded from student section -program/academic-products/free-software
After this trial period, your Prime license is free (for life!, that's how PTC advertises it), but Prime will turn into Prime Express, which means that many features are no longer available: Symbolics, Programming, Special functions, many Statistical functions etc....
As Luc already wrote your full trial version will turn into a limited version, where a lot of advanced functions are blocked. You can still open and display sheets created with the full version which made use of some advanced functions and see the results, but you won't be able to recalculate this sheet.
More than 100 software packages are available to students at little or no cost. Software is available at 204 Bellefield Hall and at the Technical Services Desk at the University Store on Fifth. Students can also download many titles online at no cost including Microsoft software. Browse the titles below for details.
This list of software is used within the core mechanical engineering classes and may differ based on classes within the major. This list gives both resources and links to current students using this software while also providing prospective students with a basic understanding of the software that mechanical engineering students use within their classes.
The Swanson School offers a variety of software packages exclusively for student use on their personal computing devices. Students can additional access a wider range of software through the Pitt IT Virtual Computing Lab. Below we provide a list of packages and links to student program pages for each manufacturer. For more information contact the SSoE Technology Group Licensing Manager Jeremy Dennis or call 412-624-2299.
The student software portal is in full swing supporting Engineering students here at MSU. Once signed in, the students are presented with software offerings from Engineering as well as specific software offerings from their home department. Each software offering comes in tow with an installation guide and software key dedicated to the student.
All software used in our program is available, in some way, for off campus student use. Most packages are available free for student personal installation. Those packages that are not available freely can be run remotely. This page serves as a one stop repository for faculty and students to determine how to access each package.
The following list of software includes popular campus applications utilized by students and other academic constituents. Although it is recommended students download and install the following applications on their own computing devices, the new Virtual Software Lab service is also available as an alternative option in accessing student software if necessary. The following software is available for students to download and install on their personal computers. The campus cannot provide support for the installation or operation of the following software on personal equipment. Please contact your own computer support contacts or technical support businesses for personal computer assistance. You may contact the IT Service Desk at 869-6776 (x6776) for additional information about the following software.
Jagiellonian University has purchased perpetual licenses of Parametric Technology Corporation's (PTC) Mathcad program for numerical, engineering and symbolic calculations, with a WYSIWYG graphical interface and notation of symbols and formulas using traditional mathematical notation. They include additional specialized modules (toolboxes) in the following areas: signal processing (Signal Processing), image processing (Image Processing ), wavelet analysis (Wavelets), and data analysis (Data Analysis).
Mathcad is a commercial computer algebra program (CAS), with computational capabilities similar to Mathematica or Maple.
A characteristic feature of Mathcad is its ease and intuitiveness of use, with the classic form of writing mathematical expressions using natural algebraic symbols. Even complex calculations and their visualizations can be carried out by the user without programming preparation, and many operations can be carried out with the mouse. The program gives the possibility to compose in WYSIWYG mode active formulas with text, tables, charts and pictures, hide the visibility of elements, etc.
Mathcad, among other things, natively uses and differentiates between upper and lower case letters, superscript and subscript, Greek alphabet, Unicode fonts in expressions. Displays and handles numbers in various formats, including: real, imaginary and complex numbers, vectors and matrices, numbers in decimal, binary, octal and hexadecimal systems, numbers in engineering and scientific notation. Performs operations on denominated quantities (including TrueNumbers) with conversion between measurement systems and dimensional validation.
The program supports data exchange as well as integration with databases, spreadsheets, data acquisition and analysis control packages, and scientific and engineering calculation and simulation systems, including CAD, CAM, CAE, FEM, BIM, GIS, among others.
Users are provided with online access to libraries of technical information and tools in the fields of chemistry, nanotechnology, ceramics, polymers, pharmaceuticals, optics, electronics, biochemistry, biotechnology, environmental, civil engineering and technical support (knowledge base, help system, database of ready-to-use calculation sheets, access to physicochemical, mathematical tables, basic formulas, formulas and constants).
Mathcad is used by more than 90% of Fortune 1000 companies, representing a wide range of industries.
Both versions can be installed and used simultaneously on a single computer. Single-user licenses are supported by a common license file. For Floating licenses, each active program (regardless of version) occupies one parallel session counter position in the license server.
Students and doctoral students can access the program on the university's computers in accordance with the licenses listed above in items 1 and 2 in teaching or research laboratories or public computer labs. The possible need to install the program in such places should be reported to the relevant employees or bodies of their departments, institutes.
*This software is Windows based. It has been archived in a self-extracting installer file. To install, download the desired file to a temporary directory and run it in your explorer or file management software. The software will walk you through the remainder of the installation in Windows.
