I've been playing all of the single player portions of CoH2 and the game gets really hectic and hard to manage. I don't enjoy the game as much when it gets crazy like that. I would really love to be able to slow the game down and even pause it so I can make my moves without getting stressed out.

Quote from there: "Ok, now that I've played a sector defense battle and had my squad split up and I had to frantically click around to reposition my hidden mercs out of sight and try to move them individually it's insane that pause during real time mode isn't available. This isn't an RTS and the UI and maps are completely insufficient for handling mercs like it's an RTS.

Another quote: "since there is no realtime pause feature, therefore no auto-pause when a new threat/enemy/mine is detected... and since it can be detected right in front of you.. the only answer is to put your merc in prone, babysit every step, and wait 5 minutes for them to crawl somewhere so you dont detonate one by moving too fast."

- In general, I'd really love to have the pause function to allow for stealthy takedowns of more than one enemy at a time. The game doesn't support stealth as much as it should, at least according to my own observations

- Scarcity for the sake for scarcity is kind of annoying. You get attacked by a bunch of people with assault rifles, you kill all 10 of them, and all you get is a pistol and a flak vest? I don't expect to get all their stuff, or to get unlimited cheap ammo from the internet, but have killed enemies drop at least their ammo and some scrap to make winning fights worthwhile

How many thousands of requests for a pause function will it take before the devs realise it really is a needed feature? The lack of it is one of the most baffling design decisions I've seen in a long time.

Just would like to add that I too would greatly appreciate the ability to pause or, better yet, switch to turn-based mode on demand. My personal favourite solution would be if the game switched to turn-based mode as soon as enemies are discovered.

Few people are against such developments, or at least most of them. Yet this passage, to my eye, shows how few realistic, practical alternatives the pausers have. Does regulation of any area, even simpler ones than AI, ever work so well? Exactly how long is all this supposed to take? How well do those same signers expect our Congress to handle, say, basic foreign policy decisions? The next debt ceiling crisis? Permitting reform?

I'm having the same exact problem. I even got another PC player to replicate the issue on his end for me and yup you cannot use commands in keyboard and mouse tactical pause, really frustrating, I hope if this is not a bug it gets put back in.

Also I did find out that if you use a controller the squad commands do work in tactical pause, just not keyboard and mouse. I don't see alot of people talking about this sadly, but if someone in the EA community team see's this post, PLEASE let us know at least if the ME:LE team are aware or if there is a fix coming

The problem is we cannot use the commands in tactical pause. Having the display I guess is optional. But the commands will not function when you're using keyboard and mouse within tactical pause, only in real time, unless you're using a controller in which can you can go in tactical pause and the squad commands work.

And you can pause whenever you want, so you can chose the point were to send the squamates inside the tactical pause, release the pause, send the squamates with Q or E and pause again.
That is done in a split second.

Yeah this isn't working for me. Although i realised I misunderstood the thread so I'll likely start a new one. But basiclly on keyboard and mouse when I pause to use the commands I get nothing. Q E Z C do nothing, no little marker or sound of confirmation. Now as I said in my earlier post. on a controller this works A-Okay but for some reason when I do it on my keyboard nothing unless I'm using the squad commands in real time.

But you can, inside the pause, point your crosshair at the point were you want to send the squadmates.
Than you can release the pause and, in the same moment, press Q or E to gave the command, and pause again.

After this I declined it and continued on. After this people that were in the match were saying that the game kept pausing whenever i was viewing the mission in progress. Basically every time I used the menu it would pause the game for everyone in the lobby.

Ya solo mode is bugged currently in that if you switch your matchmaking to solo mode and enter a mission without exiting navigation, you'll still have the squad tab and can't pause in game. But if you switch to solo then exit and reenter navigation then there will be no squad tab and you will be able to pause in mission.

Yesterday when I had this issue when I was invited to an ODD and I paused at wave 4 to see what I had gotten so far, but the game UI froze and I was stuck until all others left at 25 so I had to survive 5 waves solo with a Rhino lel. I did run at least one solo mission before this.

London Israel has paused its planned ground invasion of Gaza so the US can rush air defence systems to the region that will protect American military bases from the fallout, media reports have said.

For Andromeda, BioWare has ditched the series' trademark power wheel, which let you pause combat and assign one of your squadmates to attack a specific target. You choose an ability to combo with your own, or set your team to fight another enemy while you did something else.

You can still pause combat using the weapon wheel, however this has been moved to the slightly more fiddly View button on Xbox One (the left-hand button in the centre of the controller). Additionally, you can still point your squadmates to move to a specific point using the D-pad.

"This is why we kept the weapon wheel to pause combat," Condominas continued, "and then for the squad - there's another reason which is more mechanical. So already we're not happy with how it feels, but then as we're going down the path of adding jump and evade, you need balance. At that point, we took the decision that a couple of things needed to go away.

"So we decided to take these things which were actually the best and the worst," he continued, referring to the jump and evade on the one hand and the power wheel on the other, "and just remove [the latter]. Also, because we wanted to go more open and diverse in our combat spaces, the level of the AI increased considerably - including the squad. So it was less needed."

BioWare has just published its latest gameplay trailer showing off how players can prime up to 12 different skills and switch between them during battle - it's a good explanation of how combat has evolved. While the disappearance of the power wheel isn't explicitly mentioned, how you can still use squadmates in battle is illuminated upon:

Today, National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said this: "It is, however, the time to consider pauses in the fighting long enough so that folks like your relatives and family members can get this incredibly needed humanitarian assistance."

Long-suffering FromSoftware fans, rejoice - the devs have heard our prayers. For the first time in years, the studio is releasing a game with a pause button, letting us take a break from the action as we figure out what the hell to do next.

This honour is coming to us with Armoured Core 6, which will officially be the first post-Souls FromSoftware game to launch with a pause button. Unlike Elden Ring, Dark Souls, and the rest of them, we won't have to find some kind of workaround just to pause the action, with the menu button actually pausing the game completely.

We now know this will be the case thanks to another new feature coming to a FromSoft game - a photo mode. While this feature is hardly new to big games like Armoured Core 6, previous FromSoft games have been unable to have their own photo mode, since the game couldn't typically be paused. Now that it can, FromSoft is making the most of it, letting players snap pics of their mechs at various angles.

While previous FromSoft games, prior to the domination of the Soulsborne formula, did have pause buttons, this is the first ever game from the studio to have a photo mode. It remains to be seen how it holds up compared to other photo modes, especially since FromSoft is a newcomer to this feature.

What also isn't clear is whether or not this could signal a change in how FromSoft creates Soulsborne games. Pause menus have been a hot topic in the playerbase for some time, with many fans calling on the devs to let us put the game on hold if we need to step away for a few seconds - or even to just collect our thoughts on whatever strategy we're throwing at a boss fight. However, other players argue that this would be a sign of weakness, priding themselves in the fact that they don't actually want to be able to pause. They must have some real strong bladders in that case...

Regardless, you'll get plenty of opportunities to use that pause button in Armoured Core 6. The game is said to be between 50 and 60 hours long, so you might not be able to squeeze it in before Starfield fights for all our time. Armoured Core 6 is set to launch on August 25, and will be available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.

"So, if you are talking to soldiers and they say, 'I don't trust my squad leader with important information or sensitive information about my life,' then you don't have that level of cohesion you desire in a military outfit," he added.

The Fort Hood area, however, has had the highest average of violent felonies -- to include violent aggravated assault, robbery and violent sex crimes -- between 2015 and 2019, compared to Bragg and Joint Base Lewis McChord, according to Army figures. Hood had 129 cases, Lewis McChord had 109, and Bragg had 90 per year during that time period.

The case horrified the country and quickly ignited a public outcry. It has led to multiple lawmakers sponsoring new legislation to put an end to the long-standing epidemic of sexual assault and harassment in the military.
