as far as I know, most image/video compression in commercial applications is still done using traditional methods, due to constraints on computational complexity, especially on edge devices. However, I believe there are certain use cases that are already deployed. For instance, I think Alibaba has been using neural compression for their image databases. I would expect more real-life applications of neural compression to show up in the future, based on the fact that neural accelerators are becoming increasingly common in edge devices (see for instance the newest generation of iPhones, etc.)
