My school which is on a 4 x 4 block will begin teaching Algebra 2A/2B next fall.  Up until now we only had Algebra 1A\1B.  I was wondering if anyone had pacing guides developed for 2A\2B.  Any input would be grateful.

Thank you

I have to question if you can if you can teach Algebra 2A and 2B because of course codes.  The State would have to approve and provide appropriate coding which to my knowledge has not happened.  I understand what you are wanting to accomplish but you may be on thin ice.

You can do Algebra I-A/B, Geometry A-B, and it is my understanding
that you can also do ALgebra II- A/B....If in doubt, contact Scott
Eddins at the DOE to be sure you have done everything correctly!

If you do Algebra 2A/2B, can you only count one of them as Alg. 2 credit and the other as an elective? I know credits are different for special ed, but an Alg. 2A/2B class wouldn't be for them would it? This whole idea is intriguing because Alg. 2 seems to be a really hard class for students.

We do Algebra 2A/2B on a block. It is my understanding that 2A is an
elective credit and 2B is the Alg 2 credit just like Alg 1A/1B.
Students also have to complete both 2A and 2B in the same school year
(also like Alg 1). I will check on uploading a pacing guide.

I talked with Dr. Eddins thursday morning at NCTM and asked him about
this. He told me that the state has provided for this and has given
the 2A a code separate code from 2B, just like Algebra 1 and Geometry.
