Please see the announcement below regarding the Rescue Squad Grant Program through the TN State Fire Marshal’s Office. The program has $5 million in funding available for eligible rescue squads. Applications will be accepted starting on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, through 2:00 p.m. CT on Friday, Feb. 20, 2026.

 

Eligible rescue squads must have an active registration with the Tennessee Secretary of State and provide a letter stating they are recognized by the local government to provide rescue squad services.

 

An instructional webinar will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, at 6 p.m. CT to guide applicants through the registration process. Information and links to register for the webinar are included in the announcement.

$5 Million Available Through The 2026

Rescue Squad Grant Program

The Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance (TDCI) and the Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFMO) proudly announce that applications for $5 million in funding will be accepted starting on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026 through the Rescue Squad Grant Program. 

Eligible rescue squads must have an active registration with the Tennessee Secretary of State and provide a letter stating they are recognized by the local government to provide rescue squad services. 

Applications will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. CT on Friday, Feb. 20, 2026

Instructional Webinar

An instructional webinar will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026 at 6 p.m. CT to guide applicants through the registration process, completion of the required W-9 form, obtaining an Edison supplier ID, and completing an application.

The webinar will be held via Microsoft Teams and can be accessed by either downloading Teams to your device or by joining directly from your web browser using the links below. Please note: The webinar link will not be active until the date and time of the webinar.

Important Dates To Remember

Applicants should remember the following important dates:

  • Tuesday, Jan. 20 at 6 p.m. CT. Instructional webinar. 
  • Friday, Feb. 20 at 2 p.m. CT. Deadline to submit applications. 
  • Friday, March 27 at 2 p.m. CT. Rescue Squad grants announced.
