Friends,

The Campus bloggers meet conducted yesterday at cochin was really good and fun. The next activity being planned is a war driving session in cochin. For those who are not familiar with the term please refer - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wardriving

We are not planning to break any law here, the idea is to create an awareness about open wifi and its potential dangers (even though less than 1%). We will inform all those owners of open wifi that we find.

We need a few GPS devices for this purpose. Anyone has them or knows someone who owns them ?

I know some 10 places in panampilly nagar main road where one could go with your laptop and access open wifi if your office has a power failure or you forgot to pay your internet bills.... ;)

Jokes apart, I believe that it is important to do this and publicize the need to close open wifi connections if they have been left open unintentionally. Otherwise, one can easily use an open wifi to download all the torrents in the world, intrude into the network and steal sensitive information and have misc. passtimes like sending threats to the president and likewise.

I am game.

Dreams do come true; without that possibility nature wouldn't let us have them.
