I updated the lesson plan for tomorrow.  Since people have been having trouble with the website, I also included it below.  I added an extra topic, "Advertising", that we can talk about if we have time.  Also, I'm attaching a very interesting article about the 84 olympic games, that you should read if you have a chance.

Olympics

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olympics
http://chinesepod.com/olympics/ - A great guide to the Olympics on Chinesepod!
This website has lots of vocabulary for each of the many, many sports.
Reading:  from the New York Times, "Phone Call From China Transformed '84
  Games" 84PhoneCall.doc; original at
  http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/14/sports/olympics/14olympics.html

History and Politics
What do people know about the history in ancient Greece?
  What about the modern history?
What was the first year China participated?
  Talk about boycotts in 1956, 1976, 1980, and 1984.

    as they can.
Diving, Swimming, Synchronized swimming, Water polo, Archery, Athletics
(track and field), Badminton, Baseball, Basketball, Boxing, Flatwater
canoe/kayak, Slalom canoe/kayak, BMX, Mountain bikingg, Road cycling,
Track cycling, Equestrian, Fencing, Field hockey, Football (soccer),

Extra topic:  Advertising:  is it out of control? Should the government
control it?  For
example, should there be laws to control truth in advertising?  What about
celebrities who endorse products -- should they be required to tell the
truth?   Mention: billboards, advertising for cigarettes and alcohol, sex
in ads.  Do you think ads affect our outlook on life?  For example, some
people think ads featuring skinny models make women dissatisfied with their
own bodies?  In general, maybe ads make us less able to be satisfied with
what we have.
