The ANSI colors are realisable as printable spot colors on decals and product labels, but ANSI did not address how to render them in typical document printing. (Actually, the spec claims to provide Pantone equivalents, but does not.)

The Part 84 certification regulation provides for nine classes of filters (three levels of filter efficiency, with three categories of resistance to filter efficiency degradation). The three levels of filter efficiency are 95%, 99%, and 99.97%. The three categories of resistance to filter efficiency degradation are labeled N (Not resistant to oil), R (Resistant to oil), and P (oil Proof) (see Table 1). These new certification categories apply only to nonpowered, air-purifying, particulate-filter respirators. PAPRs for particulates will be approved only with high-efficiency filters. PAPRs will not be approved with DM or DFM filters under Part 84. This rule also eliminates the combination categories of paint spray and pesticide respirator approvals; however, other combination respirators (e.g., particulates and acid gases or organic vapors) will be certified under Part 84.

In addition to storage and handling precautions noted in Section 4.1, it is IMPERATIVE that the work of all other rough trades MUST be completed prior to the installation of factory applied finished painted product.

Installers should be aware of a condition known as thermal bow. Thermal bow is a temporary condition which may occur in metal doors due to an inside / outside temperature differential. This can occur when the direct rays of the sun strike a door surface. This condition, and the degree of bowing, depends on the door color, construction, length of exposure, temperature, etc. This condition can often be alleviated by painting the exposed surface a light color. In some cases of extreme cold, this condition may also occur in reverse.

The production of steel doors and frames relies on a variety of manufacturing processes including spot welding, projection welding, arc welding ground smooth, grinding, filling, etc. These processes may result in a show-through after application of finished paint. These characteristics are inherent in production and are not to be considered as manufacturing defects.

Thanks for an interesting article. The comparison of course can be quite time consuming and so a practical first step should always be to verify that the specification writer does actually wish for an equal / equivalent product to be put forward and is not just complying with company policy regarding listing singular trade names. A lot of time can be wasted providing supporting information for an equal recommendation that is unlikely to be accepted as the specification writer already has a strong preference, good experience etc.

Performance Industrial is a leading provider of commercial and industrial cleaning, painting, HVAC, kitchen exhaust cleaning, and epoxy flooring services. Their expert article explores a question that many warehouse and manufacturing leaders have: which safety paint colors are correct?

Generating escape sequences with the terminfo database is relatively straightforward once you know what terminal capabilities to request. You can find several tables containing capability information, along with the standard ANSI/VT220 values for each capability, in ANSI Escape Sequence Tables. (Note that not all ANSI escape sequences have equivalent terminfo capabilities, and vice versa.)

The %i notation means that the first two (and only the first two) values are one greater than you might otherwise expect. (For ANSI terminals, columns and rows number from 1 rather than from 0). The %p1%d means to push parameter 1 onto the stack and then print it immediately. The parameter %p2%d is the equivalent for parameter 2.

It demonstrates how to reference a document by its name. The results from the documents message are transient; document numbers change as new windows are opened and old windows are closed. Thus, you should generally address documents using their names rather than using document numbers unless you are very careful.

Getting more precise, other factors, such as TV screen size also affects the Nits/Lumens relationship. For example, a 65-inch TV that puts out 500 nits will have approximately four times the lumens output of a 32-inch TV putting out 500 nits.
Taking that variation into account, when comparing nits, screen size, and lumens, the formula used should be Lumens = Nits x Screen Area x Pi (3.1416). The screen area is determined by multiplying screen width and height stated in square meters.
Using the 500 nit 65-inch TV which as 1.167 square meter screen area, the lumens equivalent would be 1,833.
