Save the Date: June 3, 2023 Celebration of Life for Vernon Griffith

Hey folks. Please save the afternoon/evening of Saturday June 3rd, 2023 for a celebration of the life of Vernon Griffith. 

It may seem odd to get this email nearly three years after he passed, but considering he died at the height of the pandemic, it seems right that we come together at a less anxious and socially-distant moment. And with the recent passing of my Uncle Neil, my father’s two-years-younger “twin,” we’d also like to take the moment to celebrate his life as well. 

Please look out for an email invitation and more details in the coming weeks, but we’re looking to spend the time doing what my father would have wanted us to do: Laugh, eat, drink and tell stories/talk shit. In the meantime, do me a favor and shoot me a quick email to let me know if you will be able to make it. 

In the meantime, much love. And as my father used to say, anon.

Hey folks. Sorry for the head fake, but things got screwed up with the venue and so we’re gonna have to switch to SUNDAY, June 4th, for my father’s celebration, instead of Saturday. It will be in Bed-Stuy, at Akwaaba Mansion. Now that we have a confirmed place and time, I’ll be sending out emails so that you can rsvp. In the meantime, I hope I didn’t mess with your schedules too badly.

Hey Mark.  Unfortunately, we won't be able to make it on Sunday.  I tried to swap out some time so that I could take Monday off but it’s the end of the school year and concert season as well so I just can’t take the time off.  We will be there in spirit.  Love you all.
