Uncle Tommy,
So heartwarming to read your words.
I miss my fam sooo much these days...never imagined growing up, that “we” would ever live in different states- across the county.
Was just talking with some friends today, about the foundation that our 10 Men AND women( especially our women /mothers) provided us. Truly added to the strength that I rely upon on daily challenges, as a Black woman.
I have far too many wonderful memories of my darling Uncle V- from saving Jeff(the dog!) in Tuckerton, NJ, to taking me for my driving license, as well as making Sharon and most of us, pretend we were under 12- when we were actually 14-17 years old!- to get into movies, as “children “.
The nights of card playing, drinking and of course “MUSIC” will always be a part of my favorite childhood memories- days that I long for, especially during these times of pain due to ongoing racial injustices.
Love to all...and sincere thanks, for helping with my growth and development.
Much much love... T.
