The ONLY call recording apps in the Apple App Store are third party apps which require use of a third party online recording service where the App provider records the call as a 3 way call on their proprietary servers. All such apps and services announce that the call is being recorded, as required by law. Many require that the callers respond with a touchpad entry to indicate they heard the announcement and acknowledge the call is being recorded. The recordings reside in your account with that app/service, not Apple, and are accessible by logging in there.

***** The central question here is "why doesn't Apple allow the recording function already in the iPhone to access phone calls". It's not because it's illegal in some countries. This functionality is available to every Android phone - heck even my Symbian phone in 2007 could do this. No, it's a decision by Apple not to allow it. The question is "why"?

Apple doesn't allow this to prevent viruses/trojans/hacks : Each app is put in what is called a "sandbox", which means it cannot communicate with other apps such as the Phone app. You can record your calls by using the jack port : you can record what is sent to and from the iPhone from ears for example using a special 2-way stereo (4-pin) adapter connected to a recording device such as your computer.

I can't use any of that devices. It's just easy to allow use "automatic call recorder" app, very helpfull programm. Why andoid allow to use this app? I really doesn't want change my phone on android phone, but I really need this app. I know in USA it's illigal record otgoing and incomig calls, but what about different countries? In my country it's ligal to use this app. If apple doesn't want to allow use i will chnage my iphone on different phone with android system.

So, if you are looking for a call recorder that can let you fine-tune your recordings with better control, I would recommend you check out this app. If anything, my only disappointment with this app is the lack of a basic freemium variant. Knowing how to record phone calls on an iPhone can come in handy, whether you're recording an interview, a customer service call or just a conversation with a loved one. But it's not a capability that Apple includes with its iPhone.

Before we give you the rundown on what you can use to record a phone call on the iPhone, it's best to make sure you're legally allowed to record your conversation. Depending on where you live, the laws concerning recording conversations differs.

If you're in the U.K., you are allowed to make recordings for personal use only without disclosing the fact you're doing so to the other callers. Sharing or publishing the data without permission is not permitted, however.

No matter where you live, informing the other caller(s) of what you're doing is always going to be the best decision. If you're not in the U.S. or U.K. then you should check the law of where you are before you start.

You may think that "there's an app for that" to fill in the ability to record iPhone calls. But it's not quite that simple, as Apple blocks apps from accessing the Phone app. Still, there are options like our favorite choice, Rev Call Recorder.

Rev Call Recording merges both your line and the person on the other end of the call with a third line that's then recorded. The app is free to use, with no time limit on how much you can record. The only charge comes if you want a transcript of your phone call for $1.50 per minute.

After setting up your Google Voice account, go to Settings, then Calls and Incoming call options. Here, you can enable a toggle switch that lets you turn recording on and off by pressing the 4 key on your iPhone's number pad during calls. The recording gets forwarded to your email after you're done, or can be found among your voicemails in the app.

The major limitation with Google Voice's call recording is that the service only records inbound calls. You can't record any calls that you make. When recording, an automated voice will announce that the call is being recorded, so that will address any consent concerns.

If you don't mind spending a little more, you could invest in an in-ear microphone, such as the Olympus TP8 telephone pick-up microphone that I personally use. It plugs into the microphone port of your computer or a dictaphone, and lets you hold the phone to your ear normally while recording everything you and the other callers say.

Call recorder apps are kind of a grey area when it comes to legal and privacy issues. Apple has a strict process for reviewing which apps are allowed on their platform. This can make it difficult for developers to create fully functional call recording apps.

You can easily record and transcribe any call with two devices. One will make the call, and the other will record with Notta. Place the call on the first device and put it on speakerphone. Then, start recording with Notta and hold the second device up to the speaker. Notta will instantly record and transcribe the call in real-time.

As soon as you load Rev, it will ask you for a quick phone confirmation. It will text you a code, then once you enter the code, you start using the app. Once you load up the app, it will prompt you with a button to start recording a call.

When you enter the number or choose from your contacts, the call and recording will begin. After the recording, it will show up on your dashboard then you can listen to it. It has controls to skip ahead or behind 15 seconds, share, and transcribe. The transcribe function costs 1.50 Rev credits, which you can buy as an In-App purchase.

When you open up Cube ACR, it takes you through a short tutorial on how to record outgoing and incoming calls. Then, it brings up a splash page where you can sign up for a free trial or purchase a subscription. You can press skip to get a preview of the app.

Many users highlight how easy to use this app is. It makes call recording less simple than apps in the past have made it. The developers regularly update the app to improve the UI and efficiency of the software.

Google Voice has different ways for you to record calls depending on how your account is set up. If you have a Google Workspace account, you can record incoming and outgoing calls. Workspace accounts also support automatic call recording.
