Vectir Remote Control stands out as a versatile app that offers the convenience of managing your PC with your phone or tablet beyond the capabilities of an average remote desktop application. With a suite of application-specific remotes, users can take charge of their favorite Windows applications, keyboard, mouse, and volume settings with the utmost ease.

Once the dedicated server is installed on a PC, a fully featured trial awaits to showcase the app's robustness. The keyboard and mouse control feature mirrors the full functionality of their physical counterparts, inclusive of multi-language support and gesture-based commands.

The remote desktop functionality offers real-time control of a PC's desktop environment, enhancing flexibility with support for multiple monitors. Media-savvy individuals can revel in built-in media player controls compatible with popular services like iTunes, Winamp, VLC, Spotify, and more, giving them command over their media with playlist search options and standard playback controls.

Home theater enthusiasts will find its Kodi remote control compatibility valuable, alongside a universal PC remote control option that includes shortcuts, volume adjustments, and a file browser. Presenters can leverage the dedicated PowerPoint remote for seamless slide navigation and note access.

Users also gain quick access to system power commands, including shutdown and hibernate, all while keeping tabs on power consumption. For those looking to explore home automation, the software offers remote control of IR devices via USB-UIRT support.

Android users should also make sure they are running the latest version of the Vectir PC Remote Control app for full compatibility with all of the commands. This includes controlling Netflix volume with the Android phone or tablet volume buttons. The Netflix remote control is also fully compatible with Vectir PC Remote Control for Windows Phone and other platforms.

Vectir 3.6 complete with remote device events is now available. This version makes it possible to execute commands on the Vectir server when triggered by remote device events such as phone calls and volume button presses. More event types such as accelerometer will be added in the future. This feature is currently only available with Android devices (and possibly BlackBerry 10) as it is currently not possible to detect these device events on Windows Phone 8. The next blog post will explain how you can add remote device events to your custom remotes.

Vectir 3.6 also includes some updates to the remote profile designer. The button control now has text wrapping enabled and copy and paste support has been added for remote controls (excluding dialogs).

Vectir Remote Control 3.5.1 featuring remote desktop updates is now available. This version is focused on improving remote desktop performance in the Vectir Android, BlackBerry 10 and Windows Phone 8 apps. Desktop navigation and zoom commands are now sent over the UDP channel if available for improved performance. Version 3.5.1 of the Vectir Remote Control app now includes settings for maximum FPS (Frames Per Second) and zoom sensitivity. Vectir remote desktop in earlier versions was fixed at 10 FPS. The new FPS setting sets the maximum FPS with a range of 4-24 for remote desktop but does not necessarily mean your desktop will be streamed at this rate. If you are using Vectir with Bluetooth remote control or your network is slow the actual FPS may be slower than the max FPS setting. Remember that a higher FPS may result in higher power consumption. The zoom sensitivity setting was necessary due to the rapid zoom rate realized by sending desktop commands over the UDP channel. New remote desktop commands for two finger scrolling, Zoom 100% monitor 1, Zoom 100% monitor 2 and Send ESC have also been added.

The full version of Vectir Remote Control has also been updated to convert to free version functionality when the trial period has finished. The free version has also been updated to enable more features when used with version 3.5.1 of the Vectir Remote Control client app.

Vectir 3.3.2 is now available and features a dedicated VLC plugin for full VLC remote control. If you are upgrading from a previous version of Vectir you will need to download and import the new VLC remote profile. The latest Vectir mobile software (v3.3.2) is also required for full compatibility with the new VLC remote control features. The Android app is already published and the Windows Phone 8 and BlackBerry 10 apps will be available as soon as they have passed certification.
