Location                :      Reston, VA

Duration               :      6+months

Interview              :      Phone screen and then face to face

No H1b

 

MUST HAVE: data warehousing concepts, SQL, understanding of AWS

Job Description:

·         Duration: 6 months with possibility for extension (project is multiyear – until the end of next year so this person can stay on for while if they are good)

·         Project: conversation project, they are retiring a legacy system – oracle database and moving the data to AWS cloud, they just started this project.

·         Day to day: looking into databases, getting in touch with users of databases, gather requirements, analysis of data (find anomalies), write SQL queries

·         Need good understanding of AWS

·         Nice to nice: Read XML and JSON – read relationships

·         Needs to know data warehousing concept – the team builds databases

·         Team: Single family side of the business (this experience would really help), Scrum/ agile environment, very fast pace environment - needs someone that can hit the ground running (they have tight deadlines)

·         Top Three Skills: Strong SQL, Data warehousing, understand AWS concepts (Redshift is preferred or Lamda or any other concepts) – do not need hands of experience, experience with large volume of data – enterprise level (team is dealing with billion records)

·         Years of experience: 4 to 5 years

 

The client is seeking a Data Analyst II to coordinate changes to computer databases, test, and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems. 

Job Responsibilities: 
• Work with senior management, technical and client teams in order to determine data requirements, business data implementation approaches, best practices for advanced data manipulation, storage and analysis strategies 
• Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions 
• Design, implement, automate and maintain large scale enterprise data ETL processes 
• Modify existing databases and database management systems and/or direct programmers and analysts to make changes 
• Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications 
• Create Source to Target mapping document. 

Education/Experience: 
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required 
• Experience with database technologies 
• Knowledge of the ETL process 
• Knowledge of at least one scripting language 
• Strong written and oral communication skills 
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills 
• Desire to be working with data and helping businesses make better data driven decisions. 
- Strong SQL Knowledge 
- Strong Knowledge of Data warehousing Concepts 
- Understand how to read and use XML, JSON 
- Understand AWS(S3, HIVE, REDSHIFT) Concepts
