A Secret Philosophy: W. B. Yeats and the Dublin Hermetic Society by Professor Grevel Lindop
We are sending you, as a PDF attachment to this newsletter, the first online paper of the Michaelmas Term 2020, ‘A Secret Philosophy: W. B. Yeats and the Dublin Hermetic Society’, taken from Mysterious Wisdom: the Spiritual Life and Poetry of W. B Yeats by Grevel Lindop, a work in progress to be published in due course by Oxford University Press. GREVEL LINDOP was formerly a Professor of English at Manchester University. His recent books include a collection of poems, Luna Park, and a biography, Charles Williams: The Third Inkling. He is a member of the Council and a Fellow of the Temenos Academy, and chair of its Academic Board. The paper, along with those by Professor John Carey, Emma Clark, Hilary Davies, Dr Joseph Milne, Professor Michael Schneider and Dr Susanne Sklar, may be read on the Temenos Academy website: www.temenosacademy.org/programme/
We intend to hold three lectures this term details of which may be found on the Programme page of the website (see above link). The first talk by Dr Jeremy Naydler is fully booked. A few places remain for both talks by Tom Bree. Please note ADVANCE BOOKING is essential and that no one will be admitted who has not been given confirmation by us that they have a place. The talks by Tom Bree will be filmed and, it is hoped, screened by live webcast. Information about the webcasts will be made available on the Temenos Academy website in the days prior to the talks. Please refer to the COVID-related Risk Assessment on the Programme page of our website. The talks are subject to cancellation at short notice. Thank you!
