macbook air 2011. erased disk to do clean reinstall of Lion. Tried to reinstall from mac OSX Utilities. Keep getting message saying it "cant download the additional components needed to install OSX Lion." It now has no operating system and I cant download Lion which it came with. Please Help. Thanks.
I have tried using Transmac to do that on Windows, however, with no luck. The macbook does see the bootable USB in Disk Manager and can see that it is in the Mac OS Extended (Journalled) format. But when I go to the Startup Disk page to set it as the disk to boot from, that page is empty and does not see any drives.
This is exactly what's happening for me - I just installed lion yesterday on my imac, and now the wifi constantly crashes! One way to solve it seems to be restarting the computer, but this is clearly not a great soloution. Also, opening network preferences and selecting the network I'm already joined to seemed to prompt a response.
Have somewhat the same issue: wifi is extremely slow (200kB/sec). When I wire my macbook pro everything is fine. My macbook pro 13 inch still on slow leopard has no wifi issues so it most be Lion screwing my wifi.
Hi there! I am experiencing the exact same problem- the only thing is I'm currently overseas and will be for the next month with no reliable wifi access and have had to use very expensive data so far to figure out what is wrong with my laptop. I am currently downloading a new OS X mountain lion onto an external hard drive as no disk appears for me to install my new OS X on. Does this mean my hard drive is dead and there is no way of salvaging it save for bringing it into a physical shop (which I won't be able to do until a month later) or should I go ahead and save the new OS X onto my external hard drive (incidentally also my time machine capsule- which however is not the most updated version of my files hence the unviability of booting from here)? I'm asking this as the downloading is stipulated to take 9h which will be very, very costly- I don't mind if it actually fixes my macbook, but if not I would rather cancel it now and not waste the data on saving it to my hard drive if my internal hard disk is beyond (DIY) repair.
So I was trying to install mavricks from a bootable pendrive. But while installing when it's near to the fisnishing line and say's about one second remaining it still showing about 1 hour. Then I restart my mac. Then try again to install it from the internet but unfortunately I can't found any hard disk to select to re-install the osx mountain lion. In bangladesh there is no authorized apple store. And I don't have any idea how to deal with that issue.
I get the option to install OSX lion, I then proceed and agree to the terms and conditions, I login to the App Store with my Apple ID but all I get is temporarily unavailable message for the past 3 hours.

Meanwhile the Mac I am trying to install on is stuck in internet recovery mode. I am going to attach some pictures but it will only let me attempt to download Lion which is what I can only assume is what this machine came with. I get the weird negative 2 billion hours to download and then the error shown in the last picture. I found a thread that said a I need to back the date/time of the machine back up to a date before Apple stopped signing old versions of MacOS in 2019. It was a terminal command but it keeps popping an error.

Since 2008, UC Santa Cruz researchers have captured 36 mountain lions (Puma concolor) in the Santa Cruz mountains as part of the UCSC Puma Project to better understand the big cats' physiology, behavior, and ecology.
They've outfitted the lithe, tawny-colored predators with high-tech electronic collars that show where the mountain lions are and where they have been. Fourteen still have active GPS collars, said UCSC environmental studies Ph.D. student Yiwei Wang. Two others are followed manually. Of the remaining 20 lions, some collars have failed, or the lions have disappeared or died.
Earlier this summer, a young male known as 35M was watched electronically as he ventured from Scotts Valley where he was first captured, collared, and then released, to Morgan Hill, then up the Peninsula nearly to San Francisco. Now, Wang reports, 35M seems to have settled down west of Portola Valley.
Wang explained that a young male mountain lion must venture out alone from his mother's care and build his own territory while avoiding other males, including his own father, who may try to kill him. 35M may stay put or may pick up and keep moving, Wang reports in her blog post at SantaCruzPumas.org, the web site that documents the mountain lion research project. It includes maps showing 35M's travels over the past few months.
One mountain lion, 16M, is both a traveler and a survivor. can you no longer use/install ASDM on Mac OS X 10.7.X Lion? _ip_address gets me a page cannot be displayed on all browsers on my macbook pro but works fine from Internet Explorer from my Win XP VMWare image on the same system. This have to do with the Java changes in 10.7? annoying....
i'm getting tired of correcting myself. So i set the ASA to use the asdm-645.bin instead of 645-206 (latest as of posting) asdm image and my already installed ASDM app on the macbook works fine and doesn't ask me to update. but if you need to actually INSTALL asdm (if you don't have it already installed) you can't seem to do that. i still get a 'page cannot be displayed' type message from Safari, Firefox and Chrome on my mac when i try to open HTTPS://ASA_IP_ADDRESS where i would usually install from.

HELP . CAN THIS BE USED TO repair the mapping on an external hard drive. My ext 1tb will not un mount, I got it going for a moment, due to bad permission in aperture , it wen funny again. The drive shows folders but no files, , I cannot partition it or do I want to? No as my 9 years of photos are on it, Now , I have the lion ox 10.7 on disc and on usb stick, is this the same thing?
Tried this and now i am in the middle of no where. Just lost os and now it just goes straight to recovery and that also does not re install lion :( any ways working on it should be able to find a solution :)
Great instructions. Not tried it yet BUT just to be clear: if I pay my 20 for Lion on my macbook pro, I can put Lion OS on a USB and then install Lion again for free on my MacBook Air from it and it will just replace snow leopard on the air and turn the air into a Lion machine?
Is this bootable Lion image something that you can use as an emergency repair disk by adding things like DiskWarrior and TechTools Pro (when they are lion certified)? Or is this bootable image only capable of booting and installing Lion?
On the same topic, if my assumption is incorrect, would my solution be to wait for DasBoot to be lion certified or to install of SL on a new partition, put on lion, slim it all down, and clone it to a thumb drive?
