German technical regulation AD 2000 Merkblatt is designed for manufacturing of pressure tanks. The qualification according to the part W0 is required for the manufacture of various materials (such as sheets, tubes, forgings, castings, rods, screws). The material manufacturer is subject to an audit to verify the technical requirements to supply the material for the above mentioned pressure field. The manufacturer is entitled to supply materials to the producers of pressure vessels, which are made according to AD 2000 Merkblatt, after receiving the certification.

The AD 2000 online service provides access to the complete set of English-language versions of Merkbltter making up the AD 2000 Code on Pressure Vessels. These contain all the essential safety requirements to be met in Germany in order to comply with the European Pressure Equipment Directive (2014/68/EU).
AD 2000 Merkblatt was developed for pressure vessel design and manufacture. The certification includes assessment of technical documents, assessment of test reports, assessment of testing procedures, check of the reliability of working procedures and personnel appraisal of materials use. W0 certification for product components and HP0 certification for the products are carried out within the scope of AD 2000 Merkblatt.
These are boiler plates whose quality, processing requirements and properties are regulated by the German technical regulation AD 2000 Merkblatt. Sheets are made from high-strength, fine-grained steels and, thanks to their properties, are suitable for the construction of pressure vessels and other equipment.
