Sammy the Suricate in Lion Land is a 3D action game where the player guides Sammy, an antropomorphic suricate/meerkat through enclosed mazes in various environments. The game play has two modes, one called 'jump&run', the other 'think&run', the latter has a more puzzle-like style.
The full game has 40 maps to traverse, while running and jumping to avoid the similarly humanised and hungry lions chasing him. In order to exit the map, Sammy need to pick up all gems on the level. To help Sammy on the way and keep the lions at bay, there are elevators, teleporters, and collectible wasps used as weapons spread out on the map.
A free demo with fewer levels (12 beginner levels, 8 advanced levels) could be downloaded from the developers website (defunct since 2018), though it had some nag-screens to make you purchase the full version. There was also some bonus levels to download, one for the demo and four for the full game.
Feel the adrenaline rush with this easy to learn, but hard to master 3D action/puzzle game. Sammy Suricate places the player in fantasy world of Lion Land, where he explores fantastic environments while searching for the magical gems to escape from Lion Land.
Being in Lion Land means that Sammy will find himself hunted by amazing species of Lions, including Rasta-Lions, Hippie-Lions, Rocker-Lions and more. These Lions have 2 objectives in mind, protecting the gems and finding out how suricates taste.
The initial tutorial stages are simple enough for even inexperienced gamers, and teach players the basic controls as well as how to interact with the objects in Lion Land. After this, the player can move on to two other level sets with higher difficulty levels.
The Jump and Run levels will be familiar to players of classic action games, as it marks the first appearance of the dreaded Lions. Players must now explore the environment with the basic skills they learned in previous levels, while defeating lions using lethal wasps.
It is in the Think and Run levels where Sammy Suricate truly stands out. Unlike other action games which merely involve finding buttons and keys to unlock doors, certain exits in Lion Land can only be unlocked by specific gems. These special gems can only be created by merging the correct gems. Since Sammy can only carry one gem at a time, players must plan the order in which they collect and merge the gems.
Sammy Suricate features addictive gameplay where a sharp mind is just as important as fast reflexes. It combines fast packed action, exploration, puzzle and platform elements in a seamless realtime environment with exhilarating music and sound effects into an entertaining game that is sure to satisfy action and puzzle gamers of all ages.
Sammy Suricate is an enjoyable game for the whole family in which the main character is a funny suricate named Sammy who explores the fantastic environments fighting his main enemies: lions. The real objective of the game is to collect a certain number of magical gems per level that allows the player to get to the next one. However, the lions have also a goal which is to protect these gems, so you will have to avoid them and find the gems as you can because you have no weapon to defend yourself: just your legs to run. The game features average graphics which are enhanced if you have a 3D graphic card, and includes well-designed environments full of colors and attractions, as well as nice music and cool sound effects. Although the game is really easy to learn and play, there is an initial tutorial specially created for unexperienced gamers where users can learn the basic controls as well as the way to interact with the objects present in the different environments. Throughout the different levels, the player will encounter puzzles and platform elements, a lot of action, secret castles, elevator and platforms to explore large areas, among other interesting things. Moreover, the full version includes 36 worlds, plus more bonus levels, new music, graphics and sound effects.
