When I applied for the role, it was listed as part-time, and that aligned perfectly. In the interview, the Human Resources manager stated that it was part-time and asked how many hours I would be available to work. I answered twenty to twenty-five, and she said that was perfect as that was about all the hours they could give me.

The first day went well. I did actual training with a very nice young woman. She was very kind and patient. It had been fifteen or more years since I had worked in retail before moving on to office management. The young woman advised me that the store heavily pushed the store credit card applications, but given I was new, they would cut me some slack. I managed to get one credit application that day.

It got quite busy after 5:00 pm, and I was the only one working in that department. I found out from another employee that I was not allowed to leave the department to even go to the bathroom unless someone else was working with me.

I had customers right up until 8:00 pm. The announcement was made over the intercom that everyone could start closing down the registers. I did that, cleaned the fitting room, and straightened up the department. Next, I had to take the returns to the correct departments.

As I was doing this, an announcement was made that if all closing duties were finished everyone could leave. I was upstairs finishing up taking all the returns to the departments as fast as I could. As soon as I was done, I headed downstairs to leave.

[Friend] then slapped the MANAGER, screamed that she quit, threw her hat at him, and walked out. I roughly shoved the creep away and followed her, just in case. She got in my car and drove back to work with me, and I ordered some food elsewhere for both of us.

This new 2012 version of Working is a musical exploration of 26 people from all walks of life. While most of the professions have been updated, the show's strengths are in the core truths that transcend specific professions; the key is how people's relationships to their work ultimately reveal essential aspects of their humanity, regardless of the trappings of the job itself. The show, still set in contemporary America, contains timeless truths. This new version of Working allows the audience to get a rare glimpse of the actors and technicians, working to put on a show. This raw adaptation only enhances the realistic and relatable nature of the subject matter.

With extremely modest set and orchestra requirements, universal subject matter, and featuring a diverse ensemble cast of variable size, Working is one of the most accessible, relevant and substantive musicals ever created. The new, revised 2012 version includes updated lyrics, a streamlined book and two new songs.

A Concert/Symphonic Arrangement has been specifically written for use in a concert setting. Generally this means it features a larger, typical symphonic orchestration than what you may find in the show. It is meant to be performed with one or more singers.

Here, Bloom discusses the societal impacts of working from home and what his latest research reveals. And in a related SIEPR Policy Brief, he expands on his findings and offers policymakers and business leaders suggestions for making remote-work a permanent part of the labor landscape.

More strikingly, if we consider the contribution to U.S. gross domestic product based on their earnings, this enlarged group of work-from-home employees now accounts for more than two-thirds of U.S. economic activity.

And a number of corporations are developing plans for more work-from-home options beyond the pandemic. A recent separate survey of firms from the Survey of Business Uncertainty that I run with the Atlanta Federal Reserve and the University of Chicago indicated that the share of working days spent at home is expected to increase fourfold from pre-COVID levels, from 5 percent to 20 percent.

Growth of city centers are going to stall. During the pandemic, the overwhelming share of employees who shifted to telecommuting previously worked in offices in cities. I estimate that the loss of their physical presence slashed total daily spending at city center restaurants, bars and shops by more than half.

Second, elevators. Typically, before COVID, you could squeeze people into an elevator, with each person taking roughly four square feet of space. But if we enforce six feet of social distancing we need more like 100 square feet of space, cutting the capacity of elevators by over 90 percent, making it impossible for employees to reach their desks during rush hours.

Nobody knows for sure, but if a COVID-19 vaccine eventually comes out, my prediction is that society will have become accustomed to social distancing. And given other recent near-miss pandemics like SARS, Ebola, MERS and avian-flu, or the prior influenza pandemics of 1957-58 and 1968, firms and employees will fear the potential need to return to social distancing. So I anticipate many firms will be reluctant to rapidly return to dense offices.

Our working definitions are available in multiple languages. While we try to ensure the accuracy of all of our translations, in the event of any discrepancies, the English translation takes precedence.

The IHRA is the only intergovernmental organization mandated to focus solely on Holocaust-related issues. With evidence that the scourge of antisemitism was once again on the rise, we resolved to take a leading role in combating it.

The working definition of antisemitism has brought the issue once more to the attention of leaders around the world, making them aware that much work still needs to be done to address antisemitism, which is deeply rooted in our societies.

As a result, countries and organizations have developed national and regional strategies to counter antisemitism, and have appointed Special Envoys and other advisors on the issue. The working definition has helped educate and sensitize administrations, politicians, judges, police, teachers, media, and civil society.

Its broad international implementation has allowed monitoring organizations to better track antisemitism across borders, and has provided researchers and civil society organizations with a way to better moderate content online, including by training AI tools.

The working definition has helped guide countless governments, organizations, and individuals in their efforts to identify antisemitism. This practical tool has also been formally adopted or endorsed* by these groups, both at the national and organizational level.

The following UN member states have adopted or endorsed the IHRA working definition of antisemitism. Beyond the 43 countries listed below, a wide range of other political entities, including a large number of regional/state and local governments, have done so as well. Depending on their domestic situation, countries may use different terminology, including adopt, endorse, embrace, recognize, support, and so on.

The NCAA president and Board of Governors appointed a working group to examine issues highlighted in recently proposed federal and state legislation related to student-athlete name, image and likeness.

As part of its efforts, the working group will study modifications of current rules, policies and practices. In particular, it will focus on solutions that tie any changes to education; maintain the clear demarcation between professional and college sports; and further align student-athletes with the general student body.

The Board of Governors charged the working group with writing a set of overarching principles to guide each division as it devises consistent legislation. A final report is due to the Board of Governors in October, with an update provided in August.

Due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, the 2020 March, April and May sessions of UNCITRAL Working Groups I, III, IV, V and VI had to be postponed. Alternative arrangements were put in place, which allowed for progress to be made on the working papers scheduled for consideration at those sessions.

Illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing is a global problem that threatens ocean ecosystems and sustainable fisheries. It also threatens our economic security and the natural resources that are critical to global food security, and it puts law-abiding fishermen and seafood producers in the United States and abroad at a disadvantage.

The Maritime Security and Fisheries Enforcement (SAFE) Act provides a whole-of-government approach to counter IUU fishing and related threats to maritime security. Section 3551 of the Act requires the establishment of an Interagency Working Group to strengthen maritime security and combat IUU fishing.

The working group brings together twenty-one agencies for an integrated, federal government-wide response to IUU fishing globally. The group's chair and deputy chair positions rotate among NOAA, the U.S. Department of State, and the U.S. Coast Guard. NOAA served as the first chair, and the U.S. Department of State currently serves this role. Additional members of the working group include representatives from:

Mahlet Mesfin, Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs, from the Department of State, is the current Chair of the Working Group in coordination with Deputy Chairs, Dr. Kelly Kryc, Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Fisheries, and Rear Admiral Jo-Ann F. Burdian, Assistant Commandant for Response Policy from the U.S. Coast Guard.

The working group continues to host public listening sessions to engage with the public on its work. The listening sessions consist of brief presentations followed by an opportunity for listeners to provide verbal comments to the working group.

As pioneers in the working dog field, Penn Vet's Working Dog Center aims to advance research and the application of the newest scientific findings, and veterinary expertise, to optimize the performance of scent detection dogs. The special scenting ability of dogs also allows them to serve and support global health or conservation detection.
