Civil Engineering origin (wikipedia):
As in English the word has its origin in the distinction between civilian and military engineers, as in before the start of the 19th century only military engineers existed and the prefix "civil" was a way to separate those who had studied engineering in a regular University from their military counterparts. Today the degree spans over all fields within engineering, like civil engineering, computer science, electronics engineering, etc.

నా బ్లాగులో ఈ టపా రాయడానికి ముందు, తెలుగుపదం గుంపు గురించి తెలీదు.
అందుకే ఆ టపా వేసాను.
సరే, సాంకేతికత కి వ్యుత్పత్తి ఎవరైనా చెప్పగలరు. అలాగే "సంకేతం"కి
సాంకేతికకి సంబంధం గురించి కూడా..!
technologyకి హిందీలో ప్రౌద్యోగికీ అని, కన్నడిగులు "తంత్ర జ్ఞానం" అని
వాడుతున్నారు. వీటి గురించి కూడా కొద్దిగా ఆలోచించగలరు.
technologyఅంటే techniquesగురించిన అధ్యయనం. డిప్లొమావారు, వారు (చిట్కా
అనవచ్చునేమో..!) techniquesగురించి ఎక్కడ, ఎప్పుడు, ఎలా వాడాలో
తెలుసుకుంటే, ఇంజనీరింగ్ వారు వాటిని ఎందుకు వాడాలో, అందులోని
మర్మాలేమిటో, అలాగే ఎక్కడెక్కడ మెరుగుపరచాలో తెలుసుకుంటారు. ఈ విద్య
గురించి ఏక వాక్య వివరణ ఇది.
