Exstance where impossible to exist ... Single word either paccapaTTu or marusarassu will not give exact meaning of Oasis. If added Edaari (desert) as prefix to both will give exact meaning. Like Edaari lo paccapaTTu or Edaari lo marusarassu like this.
This what I feel basing on my reading and understanding levels. Sorry if its wrong.
Narayana Rao garu suggested పచ్చపట్టు (పచ్చపట్టు), meaning a spot with greenery. This word is picturesque and appealing, especially if one is viewing an oasis from above, say from a plane.
Mohana Rao garu suggested మరుసరస్సు (మరుసరస్సు) or మరుసరసి (మరుసరసి). మరువు (మరువు) means dry land. Hence these words refer to the location of the water and are also very crisp and musical.

You mean, తావు? (తావి anTE "vaasana" ani maatramE kadaa artham?) ఎండతావు doesn't give the meaning to me, and నీటి తావు could mean any place where you find water.
So far, I like the more direct మరుసరసి (Apt word, Mohana Rao gaarU!) more than the�picturesque పచ్చపట్టు. However, పచ్చపట్టు could be useful when using "oasis" figuratively sometimes.�If two words are okay (or an అచ్చతెలుగు phrase is wanted), I liked ఎడారి చెలమ.

By chance are you refering to eMDa taavu OR neeTi taavu;if that is the case obviously,as the meaning of the word "taavu" goes-it is the place of water.If it is "taavi" which means smell (vaasana),it is smell of water i.e in other words whereabouts of the water.
