Another telugu humour magazine of that time "Million Jokes" comes to mind !

He wrote this as a part of one satirical article on 'seasonal' poetry,
which appears on general/national festivals...particularly in 'AkASa
vANi' .
I could remember this poem(+Tambu) (from last fifteen years) just
because I couldn't control smiling ...till today if I remember this
poem or if I hear the same 'seasonal poems' which were pointed out by
Tambu.

A few years later, jyOti monthly printed an article by tambu, a
reproduction of a talk he gave at viSaakha racayitala saMgham (this was a
famous series - raaviSaastri's and kaaraa's talks on this topic have been
reprinted and quoted umpteen number of times). Tambu's talk was hilarious,
and I think he has identified 'tambu gaari guMdu' as one of his early
works.
There used to be two 'humor' magazines in mid 60s called navvulu
puvvulu, and pakapakalu (anybody remember them?). One of them (or both?)
used to have contributions from the Andhra Medical College crowd (anDev,
tambu, vivEkaananda moorti) etc.
Later, by late 70s, tambu appeared as columnist in Andhrajyoti
weekly. As filmmakers began to discover the potential of Vizag as a good
outdoor location, tambu began appearing in movies, and toiled in that
industry for a while as an assistant director.
In 84, he was in US during the filming of amerikaa alluDu as an
assistant director and actor.
I haven't read much from him lately. After hearing of his death, I
can't help but think that all his potential was probably not realized. I
thank him for all the pleasure he has given me and other readers. We will
remember him fondly.

Interesting! Never heard nor read the above version before. But, from
the text you posted, I can safely conclude that its a line-to-line parody
to a popular patriotic song from 1947. Ah, when I say patriotic song,
and from 1947, who else 'd have sung it! :-) టంగుటూరి సూర్యకుమారి's
song goes like: నేడే ఈనాడే పదిహేనవ తేదీ
Aside, theres another number from TSK on the occasion of ఆంధ్ర ప్రదేశ్
అవతరణ. Goes like:
ముక్కోటి కంఠాలు ఒక్క సారిగ మ్రోగాయి
.... జయనాదంతో దిక్కులన్నీ మార్మ్రోగాయి
Was it also 'parodied'?

I am not sure. If not 'parodied' one should do that atleast now :-).
BTW is any body going to collect all the episodes of 'taMbu rUlu' from
A Jyoti (of early eighties)? You can enjoy all of his writings in that
column.
