Does anyone have any idea/sources for determining the number of
Telugus in the US, and if possible, the statewise breakdown?

When I checked a couple of years ago, US Census bureau was not
collecting any information about Telugu speakers in this country. I do
not know of a reliable source of information with regards to the number
of Telugu speaking people or people of Telugu origin.

Some people estimate that Telugus comprise about 20% of Indians in US;
there is no reason to believe that this is anything more than an
educated guess. This would put the number of Telugus in US about
460,000.
