CALL FOR ARTICLES IN TELUGU & ENGLISH

As you may know, the 5th America Telugu Sahiti Sadassu & 17th Texas Telugu Sahitya Sadassu will be held on October 14-15, 2006 in Houston, Texas. The legendary cartoonist, painter & film director Bapu is the Chief Guest. Other Guests of Honor from India are Dr. Pappu Venugopala Rao (Well known author, speaker, Telugu scholar and Associate Director of American Institute of Indian Studies, Chennai) and Sri Vijaya Babu (Reputed poet & Associate Editor of Andhra Prabha Daily, Hyderabad). Dr. Veluri Venkateswara Rao (Atlanta), respected writer and literary stalwart of North America will deliver the Keynote Address. There will be an Art Exhibition of BAPU and a book fair. The venue is Anjali Center for Performing Arts, Sugar Land, Texas.

Every one is invited to attend this unique Telugu Literary Convention and make it a success. It is convened by Vanguri Foundation of America, Inc and hosted by Telugu Cultural Association, Houston, TX.

The Organizing Committee invites original contributions for presentation at the 5th Telugu Literary Symposium of America to be held in Houston, Texas on October 14-15, 2006.

Suggestions to Contributors

a.. Short Story (Original Kadhanika)
b.. Poem (Original Kavitha, Geyam)
c.. Skit, One act play (Original Natika)
d.. Essays on Literary aspects of Telugu such as analyses of the work of Nannaya, Tikkana, Devulapalli, Sri Sri etc.,
e.. Translations into and from Telugu, Contributions of Telugu to World Literature, Impact of world literary trends on Telugu literature.
f.. Essays on innovative approaches to teach Telugu in North America, Original articles on educational tools for learning written and verbal communications in Telugu particularly suitable for second generation youngsters, Analyses on Telugu software, improvements and key board standardization, Telugu language in performing arts such as dance, music and movies.
g.. Establishment of Telugu Chairs at various universities in USA.
h.. The need and methodology of establishing relationships with institutions in India such as Telugu University.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION

1. All contributions must be original and unpublished any where including web magazines. Only registered participants are eligible for making any presentation.

2. Independent Editorial Committees will review all the articles submitted and will assign the specific session for presentation including Sweeya Rachana Pathanam. .

3. Maximum time for any presentation is limited to 5-10 minutes regardless of the actual length of the article.

4. Abstracts are acceptable if received on or about October 1, 2006, but completed articles must be submitted on or before October 10, 2006 to be eligible for presentation.

5. All articles actually presented at the Convention will be published in the Proceedings of the Conference which will be mailed to all registered participants. Pre-prints of selected contributions will be available at the Conference Venue as needed.

6. Please include Author's Name, Address, Home Phone, Day Time Phone, FAX, e-mail, and other details of the person who will present the article, if different from the author and Audio visual equipment needs (Slide projector, Overhead projector, etc.)

7. Contributors are encouraged to submit articles via e-mail, typeset in Telugu and send as PDF. English articles must be in MS Word. E-mail to send articles is umara...@gmail.com and copy to rvan...@wt.net. Hard copies can be mailed to the following address:

Registration fee is $60 per person and $100 per family of two for residents of Texas. Participants from out of State of Texas receive a discount of $10 per person. There is no fee for students and visitors from India. All registered participants will receive all books released (minimum 4) at the Sadassu, breakfast & lunch on both the days and other benefits valued at $250.

I do not know the sexy part...but I guarantee the juicy and appetizing
