I read more than a few works of both the novelists
Yandamuri and Malladi. I like them both for their novels,
and I do like Yandamuri more, for his other books like
వ్యక్తిత్వ వికాసం which is really a good book,
psychology or not. His గ్రాఫాలజీ is also a good
attempt to bring graphology to the understanding of Telugu
readers - it doesn't take translation, it is a
redefinition, IMHO! I liked mallaadi's వంటల పుస్తకం,
that was one of the books I brought to US :), and I plan to
get వ్యక్తిత్వ వికాసం too by the way. I stress about the
latter so much because I never believed in reading books
for personality development, but HAD TO read that book
after I came to the US, when I was really bored and had
just that book with me (my friend's). That book was really
a good one, I felt then.
Yandamuri is known to be an egoist, but I didn't like
Mallaadi's comments on that, because he was showing his ego
in the largest scale!! And his statements that writers and
other public figures can't inspire/influence the
society/people! We know many cases that contradict those
statements, don't we? Doesn't he know that? Or is he just
trying to be different?
One thing is for sure - this interview has lessened the
regard I had towards Malladi.
Coming to the NBK interview on manacinema (that Sri VCJ was
mentioning), I know Balakrishna is a great egoist, but I
really don't think the interview was all true, no fool
would give such answers in an interview, I feel. And if he
did, well, I already told what I think about him...
