[racchabanda] Sri Mullapudi Vemkata Ramana passed away

బుడుగు, సీగానపెసూనాంబ, అప్పుల అప్పారావు, తీతా, రెండు జడల సీత, రాధా గోపాలం... ఇలా మన మనసుల్లో కలకాలం నిలిచిపోయే ఎన్నో పాత్రలకు ప్రాణం పోసిన గొప్ప హాస్య రచయిత శ్రీ ముళ్ళపూడి.
విక్రమార్కుడి మార్కు సింహాసనం, బుడుగు, రాజకీయ బేతాళ పంచ వింశతిక, రాధాగోపాలం, జనతా ఎక్స్ ప్రెస్ లాటి ఎన్నో సాహిత్య రత్నాల్ని అందించారు. ఈ మధ్యనే ఆయన వ్రాసిన ఆత్మకథ రెండు పుస్తకాలు ఇండియానించీ తెప్పించుకుని చదివాను. కోతి కొమ్మచ్చి. ఇంకోతి కొమ్మచ్చి. అందరూ చదవ వలసిన రెండు గొప్ప పుస్తకాలవి.
సాక్షి, బంగారు పిచిక, ముత్యాలముగ్గు, మిష్టర్ పెళ్ళాం, అందాలరాముడు, మూగమనసులు, పెళ్ళిపుస్తకం మొదలైన ఎన్నో చిత్రాలకు కథ, సంభాషణలు వ్రాశారు.
రమణగారి కుటుంబానికీ, వారి మిత్రులు బాపూ కుటుంబానికి, ఆయనకి వున్న నాబోటి అసంఖ్యాక అభిమానులకూ, తెలుగు సాహిత్యానికీ ఆయన ఇలా వెళ్ళిపోవటం తీరని లోటు.

I am deeply saddened to hear that Sri Mullapudi Venkata Ramana is no more. He is about 80 years old.
He is an excellent writer of Modern Day, and he produced excellent screen-play and dialogues for super-hit movies. He did pen a couple of songs in Telugu Movies.
Many a person discussed politics or poly-trics in this forums, and I am not sure how many have heard that he wrote a master piece, called 'rajakeeya betala pancha vimsatika,' a completely political satire.
Each story, each line and each word of this book reflects the entire political scenario across the globe, such is his superb talents, imagination and understanding of the human nature.
He is a humorist, and created unforgettable characters, and those characters will remain for ever in the minds of Telugu people.
Setting aside his books, one of his very funniest song is from the movie 'prEminci cUdu': 'buccabbai pani kAvAlOyi.'
Telugu Literature had lost a stalwart, Bapu lost a great friend and I am confident to say the humanity lost a human who has turned the ton of tears into laughter!
May his soul rest in peace. My hearty condolences to his family.
