Netflix just won't work with the new Orbi. We're getting an error message stating that it looks like we're using an unblocker or VPN...we're not. The guy at Netflix told my wife that, in effect, Netflix doesn't work with Orbi because of the way devices switch between one unit and the other to get the best signal, or something like that. I switched back to our older Netgear router and everything's perfect.
We had the Orbi hard wired into an Arris cable modem from our ISP. All the devices (Sony smart TV, 2 PC laptops, Chromebook, 3iPhones on wifi. Great signal and functionality with everything but Netflix. Took the Orbi off and put our Netgear Nighthawk (R7000) back in and Netflix was immeditely great.
Could also be that the switch to Orbi prompted a DHCP address change from the ISP, and the one the OP got just so happened to previously be assigned to someone who was known to run a relay like Tor. If that's the case, it'll expire on its own...eventually.
I think they're going to have to come up with a better excuse than this. If Orbi had this problem, then all the other distributed/mesh systems out there should also be "incompatable" with Netflix. This is not the case, though. Whether or not you are jumping from satellite to satellite would be completely transparent to Netflix.
As a test, I just started a Netflix stream on my laptop and then started moving around the house. I verifiably saw my laptop jump from one Orbi satellite to another, and Netflix never missed a beat. So, gotta call b.s. on their claim that "Netflix doesn't work with Orbi".
Occasionally on my TV's built in app netflix hiccups - I think this is more a netflix issue. Try signing out of the app and back in. No problems on iPads, chromecasts, and netflix all sorts of different places and locations. Perhaps try a different wifi channel if you're in a congested wifi neighborhood. Try channel 1 or 11.
Glad you got it working. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

Enjoy.
Yes it looks like a problem of codecs if you use firefox, (in google chrome it is not a problem becouse it come with its own privative codecs) but in anyway you can install the codecs if you didnt install them before and you are using firefox in netflix, -US/quick-docs/assembly_installing-plugins-for-playing-movies-and-music/
If it does work only with to enable DRM so perfect. Remeber that if you have problems with others videos with firefox it can be a problem of codecs, in case you can install them like commented before. Cool you have your netflix working!.
Hello, long time user of paypal, first time with a question. Ive had my paypal all set up with my bank card and have been using it to pay for netflix for about 4-5 months now. However, I woke up this morning to find a email from them saying my account is on hold because they could not porcess my paypal information.
so... i check my profile there... found nothing wrong. checked my profile here... found nothing out of the ordinary. no fees owed or anything like that. Call netflix custommer service line... they tell me to make sure nothing is wrong here.
Now, i did have some trouble a month ago when netflix charged to my paypal, my paypal charged my bank.. to find no money(overspent on christmas, forgot about the incomming charge) so I had to fix those fees, which I did. So im really not sure what is wrong. is paypal angry with me and no longer allowing things to be processed through my bank account? it doesnt seem so, as ive spent money at other sites just fine. I'm really just kinda stuck and confused... any ideas?
I have exactly the same issue. Ive been a Netflix customer for years and Use PayPal for many daily transactions. Today I received an email saying payment wasnt processed, now I can only enter a credit card.
Same issue. The problem is with NETFLIX. PayPal claims Netflix changed the payment parameters so the paypal account needs to be verified by a credit card. I wasted an entire day, and got bounced back & forth. Netflix said it was Paypal's issue, and Paypal said it was Netflix. REALLY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE due to the fact that neither company, even the supervisors did not appear to know what the heck is going on? Pathetic. 4 phone calls!!!
I transfer funds from my bank account to my paypal account. The money is just sitting there waiting for Netflix to take it, but they will not because i have no credit card? There is no reason they need one. When talking to Netflix, the CSR even said they don't need to verify a paypal account, and they could not understand why the subscription process demands a credit card. Despite this I can't complete my account with Netflix without a credit card.
I have a very strange problem with a brand new HP Spectre x360 convertible. First time, I have spotted the problem, was when downloaded the Netflix app from M Store. After watching for a few minutes, screen starts flickering and even causes blue screen with an error(not all the time, but flickering is all the time, even if I download the show/movie):
P.S other problems also arise from apps from Microsoft Store. Spotify is also flickering sometimes(very rarely), VLC won't rotate when I rotate my laptop. I thought maybe there is some connection between all of them. Because if I would play on web, it would be OK.
I have the same issue with my Spectre x360 convertible. I just encountered this problem tonight while using the Netflix app from the Microsoft store and trying to watch a movie in full screen mode. This laptop isn't even two weeks old. This problem only happens when watching Netflix on the app. I continued watching Netflix in Chrome and didn't have any issues with the screen flickering.
The BIOS and all drivers are up to date. It was actually because of this issue that I installed the Intel Driver and Support Assistant so I could install the four drivers I needed, one of which was the latest update for the Intel Iris Plus Graphics. Just right now I tested Netflix again after doing all this and the screen immediately froze, went black, and continuously flickered not even 15 seconds after starting a show and going full screen. I had to restart my laptop just to come back and finish this response.
I bought the Spectre x360 13-aw0xxx a week back and have been encountering the same issue. And the Movies and TV app pre installed on the device is also triggering the same screen issue. Initially I thought it was a problem with my device and contacted the HP support, but they were unable to figure it out. When anyone puts this amount in a laptop, we don't expect such issues to come up and specially when the company is also clueless of these.
@rafariva When you post multiple times the time to respond to you get's delayed as the post reset's each time, posting multiple times may also send your post into the spam box, hence we don't recommend you do that!
That out of the way, here's what you need to know, if the issue is only with Netflix application, you need to contact Netflix for assistance, that said, if the issue occurs on other applications as well, try the below steps to resolve the issue:
If you have a driver available on your PC, then select Browse my computer for driver software, then select the appropriate location, where the driver located on your PC for updating it. (Also Ensure that PC is connected to the Internet while performing this step)
Hi
My graphic card driver was already updated. All my drivers and SO it is up to date. I don't think is just Netflix bug, because it happens just when I change my laptop in tablet mode. looks like when playing HD content the Intel Iris plus graphics doesn't have enough power to play this content in tablet mode ( i don't know why)
I already did your recommendation, but still having the same issue.
It's the same error as Capite3000 and syxxy. several customers, with the same laptop, and with the same error?? I don't think its a coincidence.
Please keep in mind, that screen flickering can occur my even browsing on the internet. Just some apps, especially Netflix, just crashes, but in general there is a feeling that drivers just does not work perfectly on this device.
Hi guys. The Microsoft Edge is my favorite browser of all times, really, but not when I try to watch netflix or other video streaming services, it always breaks, I have no ideia what to do anymore. Always when I try to play something there's an error and then I need to reload over and over again, sometimes even when I just play the video it stop working when I try to play again. Help me to keep using this best browser that I've ever seen.
I've ever tried to disable hardware acceleration, enable DRM content, install Microsoft Silverlight and a lot of other things, but I didn't get to watch so far without an error I keep receiving these error codes: D7356-7701 and others related. Is there's still something that can be done to really fix theses erros or I just have to be patient and wait for news versions of the browser?
The only other recent change was to update Adobe Flash yesterday. Everything else is updated. I can use the other browsers to get to my Netflix queue, but I would prefer not to. This just started. It is annoying but I am planning to upgrade my iMac to Mountain Lion and would like to have as many things working properly as possible. I am going to let Netflix know also as the problem may be on their end. Thanks for any help you can give me.
A brief ps. The problem apparently is with Netflix. Now when signing in, they suggest that you delete the cookie if you are having problems signing in. They are working to solve the problem, so I guess it wasn't just me. In the meantime, I'm checking periodically and using Safari when I need to make adjustments to my queue.
Anyone else with the XiOne, having issues with netflix?
ALL other streaming apps work fine on the box, netflix will not load.
Brings up the logo, spins for a bit, then says cant connect.
Doing some of the netflix app tests, says its not connected to the internet.
Obviously the box is and works with everything else.
Have rebooted, etc all already.
