Hi,

Is there a Spotify addon for TellDJ on the way ? And if no, it's however possible ?

Thanks again for your awesome job :)

Hi IndieFear, thanks for the question!

Spotify is something I've been looking into but may be a bit trickier to implement. Would you like to use Spotify as your player (and be able to bring your music in from), or would you like to actually be able to search Spotify (and stream) using your voice? The former may be possible, but the latter is something that requires a bit more work and is something I'm trying to design at the moment.

Glad you're enjoying TellDJ! Feel free to share it with your friends so that it can help ensure it's working well for more people. Did you use WMP/iTunes to load your tracks, or choose to load them manually?

Thanks for using TDJ.

Wow, it was quick !

Yes, i just would use Spotify as my player and play/stop/skip the song with my voice. Search music is not a priority but could be great ! :)

I use WMP to load my track with TellDJ, but usually, i use Spotify.

Thanks

IndieFear

PS: i've already shared your work :p

Play/Stop/Skip and such are in development at the moment for version 1.0. I think you may be able to use Spotify as your main media player with TellDJ since you're not doing the searching bit (yet ;)). I'll try some tests later today with Spotify and let you know how that goes (I'll post back here).

Thank you for sharing and for your feedback! Spotify is now on my to-do list for today :)

Hope so! :D I tried messing around with Spotify and so far:

- it works with the playback controls that are in development for version 1 (play/pause/next etc..)
- it works with individual track requests
- but it doesn't work with artists/albums/playlists/genres. The reason seems to be that Spotify doesn't support M3U playlists (which is what TellDJ uses). I will read into the format that Spotify does support and try and include a converter into TellDJ so that if you set Spotify as your player, it will convert it to the new format :)

If you want to test it with the tracks only, you can set it as your media player (one or two) in the Voice Recognition Lab.
Fire up the lab......Settings.....then in the "Player Name and Location" section at the bottom, enter "Spotify" in the left box (or whatever you want to call it) and the location in the right box. This location, by default, will either be C:\Program Files (x86)\Spotify\spotify.exe or C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Spotify\spotify.exe.

You can then launch tracks with Spotify and, hopefully in version 1, the rest of the categories :)

Thanks for bringing the Spotify issue up!

Nice !

But check that : http://puu.sh/1AQD6
All the prononciation of my songs are displaced... It's an issue or it's my computer ?

Last question : is it possible to play music on Spotify we don't have on our hard drive ?

I haven't seen that before. Is that only in the "Flagged" section, or is it displaced in the main "Tracks" section as well? Did you update the library after loading from WMP the first time? If you haven't made many changes to the pronunciations, you could try resetting the library and seeing if that fixes it. I'll see if I can reproduce it (making this a priority as it seems important).

At the moment, you can only play songs that are on your hard drive. This is because the speech recognition gets even more complex when it comes to streaming, but it's something I've been looking into because I know that it'll be something people would want. Won't be in version 1, but it's on my whiteboard :)

Yes, it's too displaced in the main "Tracks" but i'll try a reset of my library.

By the way, would you like to translate your soft in French ? If yes, I can help with pleasure :)

I understand that must be difficult to achieve, but i'll wait for it :p

Did you do any updating or was it displaced as soon as you loaded the tracks? I can't seem to recreate it yet, but I'll keep trying :)

Thank you very much for the offer! I'm going to try and get the main features out first, but I'll likely be interested in help with the translation in the future. I'll let you know when that time comes and see if you're happy to help out (with credit of course! :) )

Thanks for your help and feedback so far, it's much appreciated!

I'm happy I get the chance to talk to my users. You guys and girls often have great ideas and you know what features you'd like to see. My job is to try my hardest to get the best app out there! :)
