This is the first time a mobile operator is going to get revenue from
the BTTB for using operator's network. The private operators are yet to
be offered the privilege.
M Obaidullah, managing director of Teletalk and BTTB chairman Engr
Abdul Maleque Akhand, Chairman of BTTB signed the agreement.
According to the agreement, for a call from T&T to the Teletalk, BTTB
will pay 30 paisa per minute to Teletalk, and from Teletalk to BTTB,
Teletalk would have to pay 70 paisa per minute.
For an international (ISD) call through BTTB, the board would have to
pay Tk 1 per minute to Teletalk and for a call from Teletalk, it has to
pay Tk 2 per minute to BTTB.
But, as there was no agreement among private mobile operators with the
Teletalk, call between them is yet to be confirmed.
BTTB chairman Engr Abdul Maleque Akhand said that agreement between
BTTB and other private mobile operators will be revised soon through
bilateral discussion following the interconnectivity with Teletalk.
He hoped that after ensuring the revision, the private operators could
also extend facilities, including free T&T incoming to their
subscribers.
Earlier, the much-hyped T&T pre-paid mobile phone was made available to
public on March 31.
Teletalk sources said that out of total 526 BTSs (Base Transceiver
Station) of Teletalk project, 205 have already been installed.
The first phase of delivering 2.5 lakh mobile connections would be
completed by the mid of the next year, the officials hoped.
They said that the testing for its post-paid service is going on and
would be launched immediately.
The online form distribution for Sylhet and Chittagong zones has
started and by the first week of the next month, more than 1 lakh
connections (SIMs) would be distributed there.
The company now charges Tk 3.60 at peak hours (8:00am to 8:00pm), Tk
2.40 at off-peak hours (8:00pm to 12:00am and 6:00am to 8:00am), and Tk
0.60 at super off-peak hours (12:00am to 6:00am) per minute for a call
from Teletalk to Teletalk, and Teletalk to other mobiles.
The Teletalk subscribers get 30-second pulse from the 1st minute and
25-second from the second minute.
The charge for a minute at super off-peak hours for a call from
Teletalk to other mobiles will be Tk 1. The company also charges Tk 1
for per short message service among themselves.
The Teletalk company has already delivered about 80,000 GSM (global
system for mobile) phones in its first phase and the total network
would cover at least 55 district headquarters of the country. The
process to cover in some other six districts would be over soon.
OK ! freinds what is your thought about the topics. And if anyone know
the details pls let me know.
Thanking all,
