Coding for Telestroke

I had a request today for codes used with telestroke. The only thing
I have specific to telestroke is below.

1) ICD-9 V Code for “Drip & Ship” Stroke Patients – for use by
hospital that receives the patient.
- V45.88 Status post administration of rt-PA in a different
facility within the last 24 hours prior to admission to current
facility.
2) No payment, but important for data to determine whether payment is
needed.
3) Recent interest by both ATA and CMS in expanding coverage.

If you have anything that reviews the coding for telestroke care,
please send it to me. If it is a document internal to your
organization, please also let me know if you would be willing to share
it on this site.
