More detailed error messages

So I'm trying to push the known limits of the software and at times I
get an error message when it goes to load up my extension. The only
message I get is that an error has occurred and that the service will
restart. As you can probably guess, this isn't very helpful for
debugging my code.

Is there a way to create a web interface that replicates the same kind
of HTTP request but will show more detailed error messages? Of course
when I load up the pages, they do so without exception, so I'm thinking
in this case it might be the content-type value in the header that's
causing the problem.
