I have a restored 551 Switchboard in working condition, I have all CD's and SD's and some tolls, lamps fuses and work light 48V & 24V lamps,
I would like to sell it, is $1500 a good price ?

I am not a huge in to value. But it seems like a good price for that.

Robert, thank you for contacting us. Where are you located?
Nice as yours is, we already have two 551s and the documentation for them.  What else do you have for sale?  You never know.

Also, we have found that switchboards of this size are very difficult to sell; lack of interest and the difficulty of moving a very heavy object.  You might see if there is a Telephone Pioneers museum in your area.  Maybe they would want it or know someone.

Regards,

I'm not great at determining the value of these things. But 1500 seems reasonable, it looks like it's in great shape. My dad and I restored all of Heritage Park's phones in Calgary including one of those switch boards. That was a lot of effort but what a nice phone.

I'm located in Williamstown NJ, 30 miles southeast of Philly towards Atlantic City, I'll let it go for $1000, but it has to be picked up

Thanks Wayne,  I found a museum in Boston that will buy it, I reduced the price a little knowing it will be given a good home and they are willing to pick it up, you are so right about it being heavy.

Thanks again
