Telenor just registered it:
http://pk5.pknic.net.pk/pk5/lookup.PK?name=easypaisa.pk

Is it a service related to their banking subsidiary, or perhaps their
competitor to inov8/Mobilink Genie?

They are launching mobile banking next month - (most probably with brand name EasyPaisa)

No words on features yet!

According to some numbers this is how the trend goes for ecom.

-Recharge Prepaid Card - 99%

-Buying Movie Tickets - 39.67%

-Utility Bills payment- 37%

-Communication (Aero/Railways) Ticket Purchasing - Rest of %.

Intresting trend to note here is that buying movie tickets is actually stanidng more than paying utility bills. This is inda's data I merged through different source including TRAI.

Thanks,
B

This is Mobile Commerce data and not E-Commerce. Typo regretted. Too much on mind :)

Well if the solution is able to handle micro-payments, without too much of an overhead surcharge, I am sure it will be successful. When all such solutions coming out, it would be great (when they do come out) that they are interoperable with each other.
