Recently few weeks back there came a Mobilink Ad promoting themselves with simplest call rates of  1 Rs = 1 Min,in this ad they attacked that per mins rates offered by other operators are difficult to calculate.

Here are Jazz One Details :
http://www.mobilinkgsm.com/jazz/jazz_one.php

But it was not that simple as 0.40 paisas are charged on the first minute of each call which they never mentioned.

I myself never noticed & read the small line mentioning the 0.40 additional on 1st min call rates but Ufone & Zong marketing team did catch it and now both have simultaneously attacked Mobilink.

1st - U fone came with an ad with exactly 1 Rs / min call charges with couple of taunts as well for Mobilink but the Rs 1 = 1 min is only ufone 2 ufone. They named it U-Won means U Won from Mobilink :)

Here is the ad :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6Ea6GDXncc

and their detailed packageis :
http://www.ufone.com/prepay_uwon.asp

Then - came Zong with another teasing add with couple of more taunts for both Mobilink & Ufone. They came up with Rs 1 = 1 Min is for all networks and that also anytime.I couldn't find the ad online but the details are available here :

http://www.zong.com.pk/8_aanay.html

So now the war has begun for lowest per min call charges, lets see what Telenor & Warid come up with !!! Now,I am anxiously waiting for them to come up with something and also what would be Mobilink's response.

Take a look at Zong's "Seedhi Jaleebi Rates" as It advertises. Link
is: http://www.zong.com.pk/8_aanay_faq.html
Zong is offering those 1 min rates to just one off-net number for 12
aanay package.

zong is complaining that mobilink charges the 40 paisa without informing people, hence ripping them off.
i personally feel zong has been unethical too by looking like a "seedhi jilebi" and actually acting counter to what its saying.

Advertising calll rates by mobile phone companies is highly contraversial and confusing in general!

War of Hypocracy - I guess Telenor tried to be less hypocrate in early marketing campaigns and find it difficult to sustain as people cant do much calculations - "being not Einstien"

Zong very cunningly attacked Mobilink's creative package (with traditional * strategy followed by all) while telling about the additional 40 pesa on calls (Cant translate it into Annay).

I guess on face value U-Won has lost the War of Hypocracy but not sure as i am not the Ufone user. Only actual user can tell about the real tariff.

Hats off to All for spending a lot of money on EDUCATING THE CUSTOMERS or CHEATING THE CUSTOMERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!Choice is theres!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are an engineer if you looked at the Mobilink JazzOne offer ad and found out that

But Zong is far better than others atleast they are offering Rs 1 /
min for all networks + 0.40 for 1st min .

The fact to be admitted though is no doubt Mobilink is the most
hypocrite .

Can any Telecom Expert can tell the call rates of GSM Mobile Companies ( On Net and Off Net) with confidence that this is the exact rate :)

At least i am still confused !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Does Zong give 1 Rs per Min to Off-Net along with 40 Paisa on First Min only ????

aamir attaa

It offers 50 Paisa per 30 Seconds on one off-net number only (This offer is for only 12 anay package http://zong.com.pk/12_anay.html)
additional 40 Paisas are charged for first 30 second pulse. Meaning if you disconnect your call in 25 seconds, you will be charged = 0.50 + 0.40 = 0.90 Paisas (Excluding Taxes)

Note: This 50 paisa is valid for only one off net number

Currently ufone is the only one offering flat rates
On net = Rs 1/-
Off net = Rs 1.6/-

excluding taxes.

I think Mobilink ppl are right,if Einstein would have been alive he
couldn't have calculated the call rates !! The impression I had
initially was that all these rates are incl Taxes.

These *excluding taxes thing is really frustrating !!!

The compounded taxes are 33.1% (Ref. PTA Consumer Alert); however, there is 10% witholdind Tax on Fixed Line Telephone Bill exceeding 1000. (Note: 10% WHT on exceeding amount of Bill. Ref. Finance Bill 2008)

So * is the GUGLY made to Consumer as they face it from FBR.

I think that the call rates should be published broken down by law on the web site of the
service provider and also on pta web site for the clearity and protection of consumers in
Pakistan.

Broken down with all the details

I think this would be a good step but seriously it happens then PTA
will bring some fruits out of this as welll.

They will monitor the call rates on fortnight basis like OGRA :)

ZONG simple as it is 75 paisa per 30 second to any network so for one minute it becomes 1.50 so very lowest than ufone . jazz and telenor.

Look jazz 1.6 + .4 = 2.0

ufone 1.6=1.6

telenor  1.4 + .4= 1.8

waht say else

The excluding tax's bit is purely from a marketing cost-saving perspective.
Govt. tax rates are unpredictable, and if they were included in the
marketing materials, then all of them would have to be revised on a yearly
basis.

This includes billboards, website, pamphlets etc. which when taken together
comes out to be quite huge.
