This was revealed at ITCN over the week-end. Looks better. The old logo (also attached) interestingly survived quite long even after the new management took matters in their own hands. -T

Hmm.....
But for some reason, PTCL still is behaving pretty sarkari!
The website still has the old logo on it!

Logo is somewhat similar to Telefocal Asia (http://
www.telefocal.com/). Also have a look on trainings offered by
Telefocal (http://www.telefocal.com/workshops.php).

Would be great if all our corporations would spend 10 - 30% of there ad budget in cleaning
the space around there offices.

>From the advertisement, web site overhaul, changes in logo it appears
that PTCL management is feeling the heat of competition and company
wide transformation is in progress. So just the presentational changes
will do the job OR
are there any strategic changes that need to be made?
Is PTCL management really considering what their core issues are? Or
These changes just a marketing gimmicks?

The vision statement that appears on the company website is not
promising at all, doesn't have any close links with the reality a sort
of an optimistic with talk big approach , very generic and loosely
structured. Some how a confused statement.
It feels like a mix of vision and mission statement, In the
contemporary transformational organisations these two has to be
separate with the vision emphasis on the future objectives and mission
focussed on short term real challenges.

To be a successful transformed PTCL what is needed is a complete
overhaul of the corporate culture from a bureaucratic approach to a
customer centric, the atmosphere PTCL is working on is no longer a
monopolised environment. The PTCL's traditional no care attitude along
with the autocratic style of management won't work in this rapidly
dynamic environment.

By the read of the president's message I got the impression that they
are still under the influence of unionism and no focus on the real
core issue

According to him
". I can assure you that with the traditional dedication and
determination of PTCL workers we will transform this company into a
world class ICT company.I am proud of my fellow colleagues who have
been leading the market so far and have been adapting to changing
technological advancements." What a Joke !

With the traditional dedication that PTCL has shown so far there won't
be any transformation it will be the two step backward process. What
PTCL management should be focusing on is working towards the complete
employees commitment and loyalty towards customer satisfaction.

Changing the deeply entrenched company culture is a daunting task. And
that too in a Pakistani environment where friction to productivity is
high. The leadership has the most responsibility and as Amir pointed
out, if they can't come up with a better strategy and plan, then one
can't expect its employees to change behavior.

What about Paktel, and China Mobile? Doesn't that fit in a similar
situation too?
