Digital storytelling about future place?

Does anyone know of good examples of digital, place-coded
storytelling projects that are about the future of places, rather
than most of the ones to date, which have been about history and the
past?

Is anyone using location-based media to facilitate planning/what-if
type discussions?

If I recall, it took planners a few years to grok the possibilities
of doing this on the web... wondering if they are doing it with
location-based or mobile media, and or virtual worlds like Second Life?
