    • Pranav Kollegal Excellent point put forward. Well, in an agitation, or protest, the people don't look to do what they actually want. They do what they do to try and force the govt into submission, and spread fear around. They want their demands to be acknowledged, and will go to any extent to get that done. An angry person acts without thinking. It's a sorry state, but that's the way the cookie crumbles!

    • Pranav Kollegal Oh, and btw, it was those people's efforts who eventually brought freedom to us. And democracy let up merge two formerly separated states, into a single piece called AP. So they kinda hold a grudge against those statues too :P

    • Pranav Kollegal That's exactly what I'm trying to say. Differences are lame. Why should it matter if there's a different state or not?? It is completely wrong to be biased. And about the angry guys part, i was just giving an example. KCR has totally disrupted this state's functioning. There's on peace at all. That dumbass hangs a pic of Mahatma Gandhi in his office. But still promotes this violence. He ought to be poked in the eye!

to all the ingenious people above...please do explain exactly how can a popular revolt "Udhyamam" take place without destruction?! if i'm not wrong gandhi himself drew an analogy with the "labour pains a mother suffers for delivering a child"
i'll tell you what actual madness is...provoking people students especially and then saying they're rent-a-mobs!! reducing such a mass movement in all sections of people and such to political leaders!! HOW on earth can 4 million people be wrong in the mind??!!
      5 hours ago ·  ·  1 person
    • Anvita Dulluri heart breaking to see statues being destructed is it? is it not heart breaking to see people dying out there?? or oh wait...it's all done by political leaders or they're ALL mentally unstable aren't they?? is it not heart breaking for all those people who have been fighting for so many decades...for they're sentiments to be so easily brushed aside as "madness". i don't think people have to be "biased" in order to understand such simple things.

‎@Anvita - Commendable. Very much commendable. Another excellent point brought to attention here. I assuming beforehand you are in support of a united Andhra Pradesh. You know your history well too.
This issue is a widely debated issue. And I sure hope we can have a proper debate on this too. And hence, my words follow. I now begin:
Destruction of public property is completely unnecessary. They are all acts of the enraged, influenced, misled, population of this state. It really has become a sorry sight to see. Mahatma Gandhi stressed on pretesting, rallying, defying, and projecting through non-violent means. It is utter disrespect to him, to cause such wide destruction of public properties all over. It is insanity to influence those who know not the affairs of the state, and use them to bring progress to a halt!
This is exactly what sends out a wrong message to the entire youth. It promotes violence, and defiance, which is wrong. I see no wrong in having a united state.
I once read in a book -"United we stand, divided we fall."
Why can't we be one, and eliminate the differences?? It is oh so depressing to see so many precious lives lost over such silly matters :'(

And not all politicians are bad. We've had some GREAT political leaders in the past. Let us not disrespect their careers by calling politicians a disgrace. After all, they gave us the freedom we now have. Without them, so many young females would've still remained uneducated, and discriminated against! So many people would be living in the darkness. We most probably would've still been a third world country!
And for us to be a disgrace to those great men and women! I am truly ashamed to be born a human! Why should it matter if there's a different state or not?? It is completely wrong to be biased. All of us are humans, in the end! We are all a part of the same, humongous family! Why can't we all be nice, and loving, and and and and and look after each other in a familial way?
Btw, what do those idiots want to achieve with a separation!? All it'll do is empty OUR pockets, and bring about LOADS of technical difficulties! Humongous retards, they are, to support this discrimination, and violence, and bring shame to the nation, instead of glory. How do you expect a nation to prosper, if it can't sort out itself first!? :P

i do not support united andhra pradesh. i have my reasons for that too. i was brought up in a family where people have contributed to the agitation intellectually ever since t started in 1956. they have seen with their own eyes how so many agreements were violated and what kind of a facade of "well-being" has been created!! how long can a person deprived of justice remain calm and patient? the so called "united state" that you are talking about has been created AGAINST the wishes of the telangana people. they never wanted to merge with people whose habits, language, customs their entire culture was different! every single detail of the gentleman's agreement which had been formed to debate on the issue has been systematically ignored and violated. in fact the very state formation day is observed as a "black day".

to think that the people are influenced is an exceedingly preposterous illusion that you have to give up. they have seen for themselves in their own families..where they were denied jobs. this is just one face of the resentment of the telangana people. why do you think telangana is called so "barren" than the "fertile" andhra?? not because we lack resources! it is because the funds accumulated for development of lakes in telangana were diverted for "other" purposes.

reducing such a huge mass agitation to KCR is very absurd, prejudiced and parochial. he is just a minuscule aspect to the issue which had started probably even before kcr was born!!this might seem a small and insignificant issue to people like you! but isn't it wrong that the people of a region should be so strongly reproached just for asking for what is theirs?? so many demands for separate states that have come up much after the telangana issue, have been granted separation. WHY must this alone be made such a big "issue" as we are beginning to call it? when it is perfectly a constitutional and a reasonable demand, why all this "we are human race". why should it be portrayed as such an unforgivable demand being made by the people.

i must say that you are seriously deluded if you think that the leaders who stand for "united andhra" are supporting the cause for purely humanistic reasons or whatever that is.

what we want to achieve by separation is what we have lost in all these decades of gross exploitation. what we want to achieve by separation is our self dignity. we want to separate not as enemies but as brothers. now, after reading all this if you still want to call us "misled, inhuman, foolish idiots, i think it will very effectively show (sorry to say) what an ignoramus you are.

Ouch! That last part stung a bit. But yes, i am an ignoramus in one way. I know not very much of the what exactly happened in the past. But I have been brought up in a similar background. My family's lost a lot in these riots, and in riots of the past. We are also deprived of justice. We were also denied jobs, and looked down upon. But I certainly see no good coming from discriminating, and separating as such! We are all part of the same family. There's no reason we should be abusing, and taking advantage of each other. But this has happened, and caused the Telangana region a lot of trouble. I'm not saying it is right for us to be treated as inferiors. It is unacceptable. We are all equals, and should be treated as equals! All I'm trying to say is that there is no need for any violence at all! You may have your reasons to seek a separate state.

You may have faced difficulties to the extreme. But that doesn't mean you want blood shed, wide scale destruction, and racial discrimination, does it? And I'm not saying everybody involved in the agitation is misled. They are mislead, in the sense, violence is being promoted throughout! The govt. should not be biased! Neither should the population be! The so called 'United Andhra' would have bestowed upon us development, if not for those, who for their own stupid reasons, violated the agreements signed, and broke the trust of the population. Merging the two states did not mean one was to give up their habits, language, customs, and culture.

And okay. I agree. Reducing the agitation to KCR is unfair. I apologize for that. But he plays a MAJOR role in this movement! If not for his actions, I seriously doubt the movement would have escalated to this level. This issue is NOT insignificant. It is a very sensitive one, and important too. Seeking a separate state, in my view, is a bit too much. Asking for equal rights is something I'm sure all of us here will support. Seeking a separate state won't solve all your problems, girl. It will hamper development. Forming a new state is not an easy thing to do. The govt. will have a huge hole in it's pocket by the time you get your state. Asking for equal constitutional rights, and equal representation, is something which will both eliminate differences, and help develop the Telangana region! Think about it once.

I haven't said anything about the leaders standing for United Andhra, I won't say anything either, about them. I am only putting forward my views. And I do NOT intend to offend anybody.

What you have lost, can be gained by a peaceful means too, and much faster at that. I'm glad you said you don't want enemity. But a family stays together. The members stand up for each other. They are interdependent. And develop mutually.

I'm really sorry if I am causing you any inconvenience whatsoever. I only want this to be a healthy discussion. Something we can both learn from. Not a clash of what happened in the past.

Well, I came online just to discuss this issue. Thanks Anvita :)

So yeah, about the mobs destroying statues? When Ashwathama's sin can be forgiven, when Goddess Kali's sins can be forgiven(just saying) why not the Telengana's agitations? It was all done out of anger. Anger that was held inside for more than a hundred years. Injustice has been done to them from every angle and there is a limit to which people can tolerate.

And the Telengana people have not and never said that they'd cut all relations with Andhra's, the only thing they are asking is of a separate state because of all the injustice being done to them.We are still one and if any harm is done we will fight as one. When you have so much research and so many references you must have also done a clear thorough research on the Telengana agitations also, about why these agitations are going on. Everything has a reason. I know these mobs should be controlled but tell you what? Your Gandhi started non co-operation, weren't there any mobs then? Wasn't there any disobedience then!!? How else do we fight for our share of justice.

If KCR plays a major role in causing disturbances then Gandhi did too. If KCR is a fraud then so is Gandhi and I am not afraid in saying so. And your very beloved Gandhi himself said that "When injustice is incurred give them back injustice, cause I rather fight than be a coward" :)

    • Arunima Prakash And the Telengana issue was started years before KCR was born. There were agitations then too, bigger ones, more destructive ones.

    • Arunima Prakash And Pranav talk about family staying together, fighting together and being there for each other. Why don't you take your own advice sometimes? :) I am running away soon, btw! :D
      2 hours ago ·  ·  2 people
    • Anvita Dulluri ‎@pranav: can't you see that staying together is causing more "violence" and "blood-shed" and no "peace"?? if we separate then maybe even after what all the andhra people did...we might extend a good "neighbourly" policy towards them!!
      2 hours ago ·  ·  3 people
    • Anvita Dulluri and one more thing...you should really get your objectives....(which seem so benevolent and idealistic)....straight!! you say you're against violence...and say that kcr should be burnt in hot oil and fed to the dogs that's not justified as violence i guess? or is it what you call "righteous violence"...use terms like idiots...humongous retards...a lot of "familial loving" you can get by using those words and saying that we ought to be united eh??
