The Enrichment Program is About to Start

We will begin Week 1 of our Enrichment program the week of 8/24.
Please note that worksheet for Weeks 1-4 for World History, Art and
Music have been uploaded to the website. I've also uploaded my notes
on the first chapter of biology. You can download everything here:

WORKSHEETS
You can have your child answer the questions on the worksheet, or use
the questions as a discussion tool. Afterward, you can put the
worksheet in your child's portfolio or notebook. Claudia has applied
Kenneth Burke's critical tool called "the Pentad" to each chapter of
World History--if you want to learn about Kenneth Burke's Pentad, read
that first.
CURRICULUM AND WEEKLY ASSIGNMENT SHEETS
The 2009-2010 Enrichment Curriculum and Weekly Assignments includes
the entire curriculum for all six subjects, as well as 36 weekly
Assignment sheets that are portfolio ready. If you are going to use
these for your portfolio, you will need a second page each week for
your other assignments, such as reading, writing, spelling, math, etc.
In that case, download Assignments Page 2 and print one for each week.
I printed 36 copies. Each week I put one back in the printer and type
up my other assignments for the week. To do this, set the document
containing your typed up assignments to the following margins: Left:
1.25", Right: 0.5", Top: 2.5", Bottom: 1.25". To match the font,
headings are Arial 13 Bold and the regular type is Arial 11.
SETTING UP CO-OPS IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD
This year we will not be offering large classes open to the public;
however, if you are interested in following all or parts of the
enrichment program, we encourage you to team up with other families in
your neck of the woods for weekly or monthly enrichment sessions. Feel
free to contact us should you have questions or need guidance.
