We started school August 3 around here, so we’ve completed Chapter 1 and now we’re ready to tackle cells in Chapter 2. Here are my plans for the month. If you're doing science with us, you might find something useful here.
BrainPop Videos
One of the things we’re planning to do at our house this month is watch all the BrainPop movies on cells. There are 22 (very short) videos and each one has a quiz. They are listed here:

WebsitesWe'll use the Biology4Kids website which has a great section on cell structure. At the bottom of each page there is a link to the next page. This will support biology through middle school, so pick and choose what is useful to you at your grade level.

http://www.biology4kids.com/activities.htmlStudy FolderThe study folder we purchased from Gravitas Press has worked out very well for us. Between that and the classifications mnemonic, William learned all the facts from Chapter 1 and can rattle them off on cue.
