Job Description:
We are looking for a Senior Java Developer with strong analytical skills to support application analysis, code understanding, and modernization initiatives. The candidate will work closely with Business Analysts to interpret existing systems and translate technical functionality into business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze existing Java applications to understand business logic and workflows
• Review code (Spring, Java EE, Struts, EJB) to identify business rules, data flow, and integrations
• Collaborate with Business Analysts to translate technical details into functional requirements
• Prepare documentation (functional specs, process flows, data mappings, design docs)
• Support application modernization and identify reusable components
• Assist in troubleshooting and clarify system behavior during testing
• Work with architects, developers, and stakeholders for system understanding
• Handle legacy to modern application bridging

Required Skills:

• Strong experience in Core Java, Spring/Spring Boot, REST APIs
• Experience with Struts, EJB, Java EE design patterns
• Knowledge of SQL databases (Oracle/SQL Server)
• Experience with Git (version control systems)
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in Agile/fast-paced environments
• Unix/Linux and shell scripting (Bourne/Korn)

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Azure DevOps
• Knowledge of GoAnywhere (secure file transfer)
• Experience in application modernization/migration projects
• Exposure to SOA, Microservices, RESTful services
• Experience in Oil & Gas / Government / Healthcare domains
• Knowledge of PDF processing (iText)
