can tekradius LT version support basic Windows 10 wifi client using 802.1x basic username / password authentication without any external windows server ?

Yes. You can create local user profiles in TekRADIUS.

Hi,

You need to have a client entry for your access device, an access point e.g., in the Clients tab of TekRADIUS Manager. Create a user profile in TekRADIUS Manager Users tab. 

You need to add User-Password and TLS-Server-Certificate (This is required in freeware mode, it can be set in Settings / Authentication globally with  commercial license)  attributes as check attributes to the user profile.

You need to import a certificate created for server authentication with its private key to Windows Certificate Store / Local Machine / Personal folder. Certificate must be signed by a certificate authority (Let's Encrypt e.g.) recognized by your clients.

Please set "Mark this key as exportable" option while importing.

Thank you very much for the help.  we got the test setup working.   we had to use TekCERT tool in order to generate dummy certificates for the Windows PC running TekRadius LT server.

Thats exactly what I did when I installed my first Tekradius 5 years ago and have procure more since then when I was looking for Radius to authenticat my 802.1x user on a low budget.

Am currently running the latest version with 4K concurrent authenticated VPN users.

Tekradius has lots of features.

PS. I dont work for TekRadius. Am just happy with it and will encourage anyone to buy it, and I guarantee you'll come back for more.

We tried install TekRadius LT on another Windows 10 PC and this is the error we are getting when we try to uninstall the program.     We installed the program and we could not start or stop the services, these options were grayed out on top of the menu options.    Do you have any ideas what cause this issue ?

Some antivirus programs may cause such problems. Please check antivirus log to see if the antivirus has blocked TekRADIUS service.

I had the same issue with anti-virus stopping tekradius from functioning. This occurred after a windows update. Excluding the Tekradius application, in the anti virus settings, fixed my issue.

We disable all the anti virus and firewall and still not able to remove the TekRadius program.    is there any manual method to remove the program ??

You may need to restore quarantined .exe files and registry entries in the antivirus application and try again.
