Title: Senior Azure Infrastructure Architect

Location: Remote

Position: Contract

 

Role and responsibilities:

We are seeking a Senior Azure Infrastructure Architect who can lead the design and evolution of enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure across Azure and hybrid environments.

This role requires a strong architectural mindset to understand the current enterprise ecosystem, define future-ready infrastructure strategies, and guide teams on networking, security, and platform integration without necessarily being hands-on at the implementation level.

The ideal candidate will combine deep knowledge of Azure infrastructure services with the ability to design, articulate, and govern scalable, secure, and cost-optimized architectures across brownfield, greenfield, and hybrid (on-premises + cloud) environments.

Key Responsibilities

•  Assess existing enterprise landscapes (applications, infrastructure, integrations) and define Azure adoption and transformation strategies

•  Design future-ready architectures aligned with business, security, and scalability requirements

•  Architect end-to-end Azure infrastructure solutions including:

o Compute, storage, networking, and identity

o  Hybrid connectivity and migration strategies

•   Translate business and technical requirements into scalable Azure reference architectures

•   Drive enterprise-level discussions

•   Define and govern security architecture, including:

o   Azure Firewall, NSGs, Application Gateway, WAF

o   Zero Trust architecture principles

o   Identity integration (Azure AD / Entra ID)

 

Mandatory Skills:
• Strong understanding of Azure services including: 
o Networking (VNet, DNS, Load Balancers, Application Gateway)
o Security (Azure Firewall, WAF, NSG, Private Endpoints)
o Compute (VMs, App Services, AKS)
o Storage & identity services

Experience with: 
o Hub-Spoke architectures
o Virtual WAN models
o Hybrid cloud architectures

Proven ability to: 
o Design large-scale distributed systems
o Build reference architectures and architecture patterns
o Evaluate trade-offs (performance, cost, scalability)

Deep understanding of: 
o Network segmentation and routing
o Hybrid connectivity (VPN, ExpressRoute)
o Enterprise security frameworks (Zero Trust)
