TEI CMC SIG: CMC-core for feature request

Dear members of the list TEI CMC SIG,

We would like to draw your attention to a "CMC-core" TEI customisation
with sample annotations and documentation on the TEI CMC SIG Wiki space
that we developed in the course of this year together with Ciara Wigham
and Laura Herzberg:

It was our intention to prepare the customisation and the material in a
way that it can serve for an official feature request to the TEI Council
by the end of this year.

An elaborate rationale of CMC-core is given in a paper accepted for a
special edition of the journal "Corpus", the final submitted version of
which is attached to this email fyi. CMC-core was designed according to
a "reduce to the max" strategy based on the models and architectures of
the previous, corpus-related TEI CMC customisations (DeRiK, CoMeRe and
CLARIN-D). The idea is that our proposal is simple, basic, and minimally
invasive to the current TEI in the hope of making it more
straightforward for the TEI council to accept it. The focus of CMC-core
is on the relevant models needed for a representation of the macrolevel
of CMC. Additions needed for the microlevel of CMC (= the content of
<post>) should be discussed and negiotiated once that we know to what
extent and in what form the TEI decides to implement our proposal for
the macrolevel.

We would be very glad if you could let us know until November 30 if you
have comments on CMC-core and the material on the TEI CMC SIG Wiki page.
We would consider them for a revision during December; the goal is to
submit the feature request before X-mas. Please do not hesitate to send
your comments to this mailing list.

Roadmap:
- 1 December 2019: Comments from members of this mailing list due
- 20 December 2019: Submission of a Feature Request as a git issue on
TEI Council github.
