I just finished reading the story Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. I
felt that the story ended rather quicker than expected. Once you watch
the movie the story makes a little more sense. I recommend to read a
few chapters then watch the movie up to the point which you read. It
will help you understand and visualize exactly whats going on in the
story.

The story takes place in Salinas, California based on two migrant
field workers during the Great Depression. George Milton a rather
smart man and can be considered ad Lennie Small another main character
who is not quite there. Lennie's main thing in the story is tending
rabbits, that is all he really wants to do. His thought is "living off
the fatta' the lan.'" Main things about Lennie is he is as strong as
a Bull, has a child's mentality, and accidentely kills Curley's wife
which forces George to kill him. George Milton is friends with Lennie.
George is a quick-witted man who looks after Lennie to make sure he
does not do anything he will regret. At the end of the story George is
forced to shoot Lennie in the back of the head because he killed
Curley's wife. The reason George killed Lennie was because he did not
want to have to see anyone else kill him. If you want to read Of Mice
and Men check it out at the Whitttier Public Library or Whittwood
Branch Library.

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! I read it during the school year and I could not
put it down! This book's depiction of the ideal friendship between men
is amazing. I suggest anyone to read Steinbbeck's masterpiece!
