to Whittier Public Library -- Teen Reading Club 2008
This graphic novel (not a comic book, due to its content and nature)
is an autobiography of the author's ecxperiences as a little girl
living in Iran during the time of the revolution. She endures the
dying of young innocent girls just like herself. At the end of this
account, she is off to Vienna to live with her aunt because Iran has
grown far too dangerous.
This is not a child's tale. It has several war and death scenes in the
novel. Offensive language is also sometimes used. But, all in all, the
book is good for a teenager looking for a good read on a summer
afternoon.
